I have a couple of concerns that I'm going to ask my doctor about but I also wanted other mothers inputs as well... One is that i am 30 weeks pregnant. During my last pregnancy I was measured with a tape measure throughout it. I haven't had any measurements taken with the measuring tape at all in this one. My first child is 7 is there a difference in the tape measure method and the ultrasound method? Is one more accurate than the other? My second concern is that I am measuring a week behind every time I go to the doctor, could that be normal? And last the baby movement is very intense... Almost painful! Like she is scratching the inside of my stomach Lol is this normal also associated with back pain... I didn't experience ANY of these with my son.

That all sounds pretty normal to me. I've never had fundal height measured. Not with my daughter, not with this one. I guess my office doesn't bother. I think the scan, esp if you get an early one for dating, is accurate enough for growth. So if you've had a scan or two, they must be using that to gauge the growth. As for the baby's movements hurting, you could mention it to your Dr next time you see them. I had painful jabs and kicks with my daughter. At 30 weeks, baby is getting bigger, running out of room. Sounds normal to me.

The growth difference is very possible. Perhaps you ovulated late. If you did, the baby would definitely measure behind your due date. Do you know when you ovulated, and thus conceived?

You're getting very close to meeting baby :). Enjoy your final 10 weeks!!

The tape measuring method isn't particularly accurate concerning different women's body shapes and types as well as their uterus shape. It can all vary depending on your own unique body, so it makes sense that some Drs just don't go for it.

Babies also grow at different rates, there also is the possibility that you due date is a week off. Like MichCuc said, you very well could have ovulated late. Shouldn't be that big of a deal. Every pregnancy is different too, what one might experience with one child they might not the other and vice versa.

Might be a good idea to mention it to your Dr next time around but it all sounds pretty normal. Try to relax these last ten weeks and congrats on your baby!
