35 and over and ltttc for baby #2 for over 2.5yrs!

Lanet, glad it's better with your mom now. Same as orchid, I think my mom would say the same thing if it came up in a different context. I guess it's natural to want to look on the bright side, but we already know the bright sides, so it's not always what we want to hear. Sounds like your momma loves you lots. :) GL on Monday!

Isaac, that is so great that everything is falling into place perfectly for your IUI! Great follies, day off, yay! Doing ok since the trigger? I *think* I got in enough BD around ovulation time. Wish I could pinpoint the day. I'm very nervous/frustrated about that. I'll expound in a bit. But yeah it does start to feel like work sometimes. But! For the cause! *lol*

Orrrrchiiiiiidddd. :hugs::hugs: SS it didn't happen this month. I was really hopeful too. Hope you're feeling more positive about everything soon, but those are hard days end of cycle/beginning of new cycle. Thinking of you. <3 (And I agree, eat all the chocolate you want!)

AFM, I am *I think* about 4-6 dpo but I just don't know anymore. I thought ff wasn't giving me cross hairs because I didn't chart enough in the follicular phase. Which is possible. But my temp rise this cycle is NOT typical. It makes me worried that the Fertilaid is doing weird things to me. I typically have a slow rise thermal shift, but I'm hanging around in that in-between zone longer than usual. So I am definitely in my usual post-ov temp range. But historically my temps are higher by now. I have been feeling colder lately just in general, and I know the main thing is to see a thermal shift, not necessarily the actual temps themselves. It's just bothering me that I'm still not above that 98 degree mark. It hasn't been going down though either, so hopefully I'm good. I actually got a bit of a thermal shift the day BEFORE my +opk, which has me totally confused (I can't remember what I've already said in here so I'm sorry if I'm a broken record). But that would have been super early for me too. Anyway, I'm just hoping I really did ovulate, and that it happened between CD11-CD14 or this month was probably a total wash. I'm also afraid of wasting a "better chance" month after my HSG. :( Kinda discouraged today.

So this morning...I don't think I've ever been sooo happy to see CROSS HAIRS!!!!!!! It has never taken me until 5 dpo to get it before!

It might be because I hardly slept. It's very likely because my body still thinks it's an hour later than it is because of the time change (I'm sure that'd be a lower temp if I'd taken it an hour earlier). BUT I'll take it! That's a temp more like I'm used to seeing! Also I set the heat higher in the house (which I hadn't been doing b/c it seems to make DD's room warmer), but I finally woke up comfortable. So I'm going to see if maybe DD is still comfortable too.

Also, if ff is right and I ovulated on CD13 (which was when I really hoped it was), that means our timing DTD was RIGHT on the money, lol. So at least I'm feeling more positive about things like we really gave it our best shot. Sigh. This TTC thing can really make a girl have mood swings, ha.

OT: USA ladies (there's one or two in here besides me right?) How'd it go with your kiddos adapting to the time change? I was really nervous, but DD was awake WAY later than usual last night after taking a fairly late nap, and I just now hear her stirring at her normal wake-up time. Phew! Last night I was really wanting her to get some sleep, but if it helps her reset her body clock then I'm not complaining. Fx!

Yay Eyemom! So happy you got your cross hairs and that you are feeling more positive about things! It's amazing how you change one little thing (taking the Fertiaid) and of course that month your temps are different so it's impossible to know if it's the vitamins or possibly just coincidence! Anyway FX for you!

Time change went unbelievable well! I changed DS's clock last night before he went to sleep - told him he got an extra hour to sleep and so not to get up until after 7am. Well it worked! He came through at 7am on the dot which was really 8am so I am delighted! Freezing cold here as well - super frosty out. Might have to change the temp in our house as well!

Issac & Lanet - Good luck for tomorrow! Will be thinking of you both.

Gemmy & Tommy - I hope you are both doing well and getting ready for the start of some more BDing!

Hugs to you all :hugs: <3

I'm doing fine, ovulation is probably at least another week way but we go away on Friday. Really looking forward to getting away.
Eyemom glad you are feeling positive always good to at least have hope in the TWW

Eyemom glad you got your crosshairs and on the day you hoped! Last month I had a strange temp rise and although I got crosshairs, my luteal phase was a day longer than usual and I'm not convinced O day was right. I was feeling O pains for another 2 days. So confusing.
My temp is NEVER 98. I've wondered if this is bad but I read that as long as you see a rise it's fine. But do you think me being a cold person is hurting my chances? My acupuncturist keeps trying to "warm me up" but I just have a lower temp.

Hey girls! Yeah our clocks went back an hr last weekend and ds is fine with it and sleeping later, nice!
Way to go eyemom those cross hairs look amazing good luck and well done on the timing!
So sorry af got you orchid and damn those pms symptoms. I'm glad you found my post amusing!
Hey timmy and lanet!
Afm urghh so feeling nauseated today after 10,000 units of hcg last night (my trigger) got to be at the clinic bright and breezy so dh can do his stuff bless him. I guess I'll be 1dpo on Tuesday. Anyway off out for dinner now catch you later! X

Orchid, that's great that the time change went smoothly for you as well! How are you holding up?

Lanet, I don't think the actual temp is as much of a concern. I think a low basal temperate can be a sign of thyroid issues, but I imagine your TSH has been checked out already. If your thyroid is fine, I don't think the temperature really matters as long as you get the thermal shift.

Isaac, glad your ds did well with the time change too!

Lanet & Isaac, wishing you both the best for tomorrow. Please let us know how it all goes!

Everyone else, hope you're doing well. :hugs:

Thanks eyemom. And yes it's been checked and is fine. I also tend to sleep with my mouth open. Attractive I know! lol. But I think that causes a lower reading.
Good luck on iui tomorrow Isaac. I go in at 9am central standard time. Can't wait to see what's going on in there!

Good luck Lanet & Isaac! Will be thinking of you both.

Thanks Eyemom. Finally started bleeding properly this evening (was just having minimal spotting) so can finally count today as day 1 and move on. I'm ok - more so just frustrated and confused that this cycle was so different and I really had that feeling of "OMG I think I'm pregnant!!"

I now have the dilemma of whether to try this month and next or have a break for a couple of months....Only reason being I'm flying to the UK in Jan and if by some miraculous chance that I do get a BFP would I want to fly in my 1st trimester?! I don't know....At the same time I think we should just keep trying and if it happens deal with it then....Anyway I'm getting ahead of myself!

So sleepy today so heading to bed super early tonight. Hope you are all well. Hugs :hugs:

I'd say keep trying, what's the worse thing that can happen flying? You find yourself with your nose in a bag? And a bit sleeper than usual, I'd rather be sleepy on holiday than at work. And you'd keep thinking what is this was ment to be our month.
That was my view for our holiday.

Thanks Tommy - you are totally right! My concern was more that I've heard it's not always best to fly in the 1st trimester but I don't think there's any concrete evidence on this! Besides since I'll be going home if I was pregnant at least I'd be looked after!! ;)

How is everyone else doing today?

I agree with tommy I think you should keep on plugging away orchid!
Had our iui, was told dh had excellent sperm sample so happy with that but don't know the numbers exactly! It hurt quite bad brought tears to my eyes when he was passing the catheter in, ouch! All over and done know and feeling a bit bloated and crampy. Have been a bit worried cuz not really felt much ib the way of ovulation symptoms, bit of bloating and a twinge here and there but not as much as usual. Anyway need to give myself another hcg shot next Saturday so no early testing for me so it will probably be another 2 weeks before I take the test. It's gonna be a drag!
Hi to all the other girls x

Good luck on your 2ww Isaac!!
Afm, I had a disappointing appt and I'm feeling depressed. I had one follie at 15, one at 10, and 2 at 9. So really only 1 that even has a chance of maturing. Even with all those meds?! Why can't my body just respond normally? So I'm taking 2 more injections and go back Wednesday to check on the 15. And I'm secretly hoping the 10 will catch up but I don't think it's very likely, but maybe right??? Ugh, I'm going to cry and eat some comfort food now.

Sorry to hear that Lanet. It's so disappointing when things don't go smoothly. FX the extra injections will help and maybe that second one will catch up...

Sending big hugs and if I could a bar of chocolate! :hugs: :icecream: (no chocolate smilies - best I could find was ice cream!) ;)

I agree orchid, I don't know if I'd take off from ttc either. I think flying should be ok but you could always call and ask your ob to be safe. I think mainly they don't want you to do it in the third tri, especially late in the third tri. Just because emergency landings aren't always welcome excitement, lol. Since it's a long flight though, you might try to get up and move around when possible to keep blood circulating.

Isaac, glad it went well (aside from the pain, ouchie). Sounds really promising. Thanks for the update and :dust::dust:

Lanet, sorry you're feeling down about your appointment. Maybe all you need is another couple of injections and another couple of days. It makes sense they'd want to be conservative at first because they don't want to overdo it and they don't want to miss the right time. Fx when you go back in two days there will be at least two perfect follies ready for you. :hugs::hugs: Eat whatever comfort food you want though now, om nom nom. :)

Thanks girls. It's nice to have people to talk too. I came home and ate some cookies and took a nap. And I wonder why I gained 7 lbs during my last iui;);)
I have acupuncture in the morning and she said she will stimulate those little follies
I have a sense of peace. I may pray and want 4 follies but maybe God is saying he only needs 1:) I'm trying to let go if it.

Issac and Lanet fingers crossed for the 2ww, good luck, to you both!!

Orchid I know they don't like people flying after 28 weeks and I think 32 is absolutely the latest. I know it's contraversal flying in first but I honestly don't believe it affects pregnancies - how many people do you know who have conceived on holiday?

I know - totally. When I was pregnant with my DS I flew to Italy at 27 weeks....don't plan on ever doing that again - it was SO uncomfortable! My concern was more that I used to bleed after flying. Thankfully I haven't for the last few years, but it does mess up AF and Ovulation for me - that's exactly how I got pregnant with my DS! Anyway I agree with you - no need to stop trying, infact it would be bad to - after all this time! x

Lanet sorry I thought you'd had your iui, one good follies is all you need. I have a funny feeling they'd be reluctant to do it with too many because of the risk of multiples.

Orchid, does flying make you ovulate sooner? Remembering we fly in 3 days all tips welcome!

I'm sure the issue of flying in first tri is an urban myth. Lots of pregnancies are lost in the first 12 weeks and when ladies loose it on or around the time of flying its easy to add to the myth rather than thinking it wasn't going to make it in the first place.

I flew at about 28 weeks with DS, in fact if I'd come back a day later I'd have needed Doctor approval. I found it ok, but I'd been suffering pelvic pain since 22 weeks, so a week laying at the side of a pool was more than welcome.
