I'm "full-term" at 37 weeks today :happydance: but to be honest I am sooo not feeling ready for her to come yet! I have only half-packed my hospital bag and the nursery still needs a couple items and our house is not together yet (we just moved and there are still unpacked boxes and crap everywhere). We bought a used freezer to fill with food but I haven't had time to cook anything yet so it's sitting there empty! Anyways I am really worried that she will come early and be born into this chaos. This morning I was feeling nauseous then had a weird dizzy spell and am feeling a little crampy and it got me worried that she will decide to make an early arrival! Are usually some warning signs the week or so before or is it possible that the baby could pop without any signs leading up to it at all? Do you think I will just "know" when the day is getting closer? Anyone else feeling as disorganized as me??

I know what you're going through. With my first, I was completely ready by, like, 6 months. With my son, who made a surprise entry 3 days early, I hadn't washed the clothes, opened diapers, packed the diaper OR hospital bag, didn't have pacifiers or a Boppy......that was an interesting weekend........my poor hubby was so tired from all the excitement and running all the errands after the baby came!!!! One thing to remember- that "nesting" thing is real.....you may get it all done yet!!!

Ahh happy Full Term day to you too!!!!

I am exactly the same! I am 37 weeks today too, the nursery (which I painted about 8 weeks ago) has to be re-painted (Mothercare have discontinued the line we were going to get :growlmad:) so now the new one we have bought doesnt match the other colour!! I havent even started to pack our hospital bags (need to buy most of the stuff to go in them!!).... havent cooked anything, the cot and pram are coming on Tuesday (fingers crossed) and I still need to get more bottles, buy milk, fully clean my apartment, wash babies clothes.... and probs loads more I cant think of right now!!LOL

I am hoping baby will stay put until at least the 2nd Sept, so I can get paid and buy the rest of the stuff we need!

Hope this has made you feel a bit better... I am very disorganised and keep panicking that LO is going to come before I get sorted, but its my first day of Mat Leave tomorrow, so going to try and get all the painting done tomorrow!!

xxx

Happy full-term day Emzul! :happydance:

Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one totally disorganized at this stage! I feel like so many people on here are all ready and excited and trying to get labour started early, I am so NOT! I'm super excited but I do NOT want her to come early! I still haven't bought everything to go into my hospital bag either. I am going to be going shopping on Wednesday for the remainder of what I need. I wish we were able to know the exact date they were coming, I hate this not knowing stuff! I wish there were some signs I could be on the lookout for to give me a bit of warning...

I am exactly the same!! I keep seeing threads with women who as soon as they hit 37 weeks they are asking best ways to get things started.... I am the opposite! LOL I mean of course I want my baby, but not until everything is ready!

2 weeks would be great, would give me plenty of time to get everything else sorted... but I know what you mean, seen so many posts where some ladies are completely ready and they are in week 29 or 30! Note to self..... next time, I WILL be more organised! LOL xx

Yes i know how you feel, im havent even thought about organising anything yet this time round but last time i was even worse, hadnt boguth anythiong and at 36wks i was induced! went in for an appointment and was taken in and induced then, had to make a dash to tesco to get stuff for baby and hospital bag and then try to organise everything xx

its not just you, i have got most baby stuff now but havent put together any of the big stuff like the cot or the buggy, its all still in its boxes and i still need to paint, time is flying by and im really not ready. i still need to buy pjs/something to where in labour and that for hospital. i havent got any baby milk yet as im ff. i finish work on fri so im hoping next week i can start to get things done. x

Ya I need pj's too, and nursing clothes/bras and a bunch of other stuff!

Scarletvixen I cant even imagine what it must have been like to be induced so earl and not at all ready yet, must have felt quute chaotic! I suppose I should complain then! :)

Haha, I tell myself that too, but then if we are this unorganized now with our first, how will we be when we have little ones running around at home!:haha: Although at least then we'll know more about what we need, and have lots of the stuff already. I find half of my time is spent just researching everything and trying to figure out just exactly what I need to be buying/doing etc!

Me too!! LOL Its my first day of Mat Leave today, and I was woken up at 7.15 by a car alarm going off, so I have got up and am going to start my painting soon (after watching X-factor that I recorded LOL) and already I am looking on the internet for hospital bag stuff, and stickers/stencils to put on the nursery walls....... I havent even painted yet!! Need to concentrate on one task at a time! LOL

Oh I was in Clinton cards and the woman behind the till was telling me about a girl who worked there, she was taken to hospital last weekend, and had her baby.... but didnt know she was pregnant!

So at least we will have more organised than her! LOL her fella had to dash out at 3 in the morning to an all night Tesco to buy everything!! x

hehe - don't worry, I'm 38wks today and still haven't finished packing my labour bag....:dohh:

Got half his clothes washed and most stuff ready, just having a mental block on the labur bag it seems. That said, I'd be quite happy for him to make an appearance anytime from now. Like a PP said, it's the not knowing when it'll happen which I'm finding the hardest. I keep thinking, well I need to be rested/fed/watered enough - IN CASE I go into labour in the next few hours :haha:

All in good time, I know... :baby:

I am the same! our house is a complete tip as we are trying to sort out the nursery, it is stressing me out!
Over the last week we did quite a lot - ordered mattress for the second hand cot, Moses basket and carry cot so I feel a bit better knowing at least baby has somewhere to sleep! We chose our pram ages ago but need to arrange for it to be delivered which I'm pretty sure John lewis said they need 2 weeks notice for, oops.

I also haven't written my birth plan, cooked any meals for freezer or packed my hospital bag.

In a way leaving it to the last minute isn't so bad as it means I am not bored on maternity leave - I have so much to do!!

Yeah this is what I keep telling myself too, if I had got everything sorted by now, I would be facing 3 (potentially 5!) weeks of nothing..... so I purposely left a few things to do while on Mat Leave... although re-painting the nursery was NOT something I wanted to do! But I have been up since 7.30 and I have done 1 wall, so only 1 more to do!

Tomorrow I have to wait in allllll day for my Mothercare delivery to come, but I am super excited about that... the cot/mattress and pram are coming, so I will definately feel better once they are here, so I can put the cot up and put bedding on it.

Least we have lots to keep up occupied hey! LOL xx

Oh I must have made 10 hospital bag lists!! I still have no idea what to put in mine... I know the basics but I also know that I am bound to go overboard and end up taking in too much stuff and DH will moan! LOL :dohh:

Hi ladies I'm the same.

38 weeks today and still feel like there is so much to do but just don't have the energy to do it!

Our house has been a mad house all weekend with both our sets of parents painting the nursery and running around with the rug doctor (carpet cleaner) I can't believe we have left everything so last minute! We are getting a decorator in to paint our lounge, stairs and landing but they haven't given us a date yet due to finishing other jobs so we could quite easily be living at parents for first few days baby is here :dohh: not what I wanted at all.

At least we have everything we need (I think) just need to put last few things in hospital back such as toiletries and clothes for me. No idea what to wear during labour though. What is everyone else wearing?

Yeah I am having a dilemma about what to wear for labour.... will probs just buy a long t-shirt or cheap nightie! LOL

I finished painting the nursery about an hour ago....! Was all done, but the range from Mothercare I was going to get has now been discontinued :nope: so had to change the colour of the walls LOL

xx

I bought a black cotton nightshirt from primark for £4.50 to wear in labour. And treated myself to 2 m&s nightshirts for afterwards.

I'm the same, we still have no nursery. The house is a tip and I feel like I'm cleaning all the time but it's just not staying clean! People keep wanting to come round and I have to make a mad rush to clean the place up.

Hubby isn't helping me at nights, so we only have weekends to get stuff done. The cot still needs built, we have a border to put up in the nursery, we only just got our bedroom deep cleaned, but all the junk from there is gathered in the hall and I can't take it downstairs myself. The garage is brimming with junk and rubbish to take to the skip so we can't fit anything else in it. Furniture needs moved around to make room for the cot.. argh its stressing me out!

Everyone keeps saying 'hope you're enjoying your rest' but I haven't had a rest since going on Maternity leave 3 weeks ago! I just feel like everything is being left up to me and I don't have the energy to do it! I sweep the floor then need to recover for an hour, then I wash the floor and have to recover again ugh everything is taking forever to do!

I feel like I'm constantly nagging hubby, then he gets pissed off at me as he's been 'working' all day and just wants to rest at night, plus he keeps buying stuff for himself and I keep saying we're meant to be decluttering, not cluttering! I'm sure he just thinks I sit on my arse all day doing nothing!

Sorry for the long rant, I'm so stressed out with this house and the fact baby can come any time! It's frustrating not having the energy to do things quickly!

I will be 37 weeks tomorrow and can't be bothered doing anything!
I left a lot of things to be done for when I will stop work, but as it happened, since I stopped on the 15th, I got bad pelvic pain and I'm stuck in bed all day. Hubby had to do EVERYTHING. He painted the nursery, put wooden floor, got all the nursery furniture together, wash all the clothes, went shopping for me, etc.
The only thing I have started but not finished is packing my bag. And I still have few things to buy. With my luck, baby will be late so there will be no rush packing :nope:

Well Mothercare didnt deliver my order yesterday :growlmad: so yesterday my friend came round, because I told her I had to stay in all day between 8am-8pm so we stayed in all day and it didnt come!!!!

They said their system was down since Sat and any deliveries scheduled for Mon, Tues and Weds werent being delivered! :nope:
I phoned them on Monday to get the tracker number so I could keep tabs on where it was, but they said I would need to call back on the day of delivery to get this, no mention of the system being down then?! I was being a bit of a bitch on the phone, but they said "everyone due a delivery today has been contacted" to which I replied noone has called me, infact I rang this morning and the girl said she would ring me at 1pm which she didnt!!

So annoyed!! But they say it will DEFINATELY be here tomorrow before 12pm... so I am practising what I am going to say to the guy if it doesnt turn up!! LOL

I have also got a quilt I am making for LO, but have a feeling it will fall apart after the first wash! LOL I am NOT very creative!

Ha ha xx

Sorry to hear you've been having problems with mothercare emzul, it's the last thing you need right now! I have to say I'm not happy with mothercare either. Not had any experiences with delivery but I don't find the staff in our local store helpful at all so try and avoid the place!

Our nursery is finally starting to take shape now. Just as well as LO is now fully engaged and I have lost loads of mucus plug since Monday! Saying that LO will be in our room for first 6 months anyway but still it would be nice for him/her to have own room ready for when we first take him/her home.
