Is this a sign that labour is around the corner and if not is it something I should be concerned about??

It started out as a summer cold but now I'm getting real sleepy and achy with it too

It could mean lots of things. My brother has an awful cold atm. its the hottest its been in a long time.

Labour will come when you are relaxed and not worrying about it.

Its really easy to over think it and symptom spot at this stage but honestly just try and relax. The best thing you can do to encourage labour is be relaxed and not over think it.

Third tri is hard on the body so you will get all kinds of odd things going on, most of them have no indication on when labour is going to start.

I didn't know if it was something I should get meds for or maybe just let it pass

As kala said you cant really take anything.

Steam will help.

You asked if it was a labour symptom not if you should take medication... not being rude but I answered what you asked :flower:

She also said 'if not is it something I should be concerned about?'

Try paracetamol and rest, if it doesn't go away get in touch with your doctor see what he/she suggests. Don't want to have flu while you're in labour! Need all the energy you can get x

It's like the tww all over again. I know its different but I came down with horrendous flu like symptons in my tww, and ended up getting my bfp.
It's amazing sometimes how your body prepares and lets you know things.

In my tww I had horrendous stiff neck and woke up one morning not being able to even lift my head off the pillow! First time ever in my life and terrified me lol.

It has switched to a horrifically sore throat. My mum always suggests lemon tea but its difficult enough getting this RLT down lol

Don't want to get anyone's hopes up falsely but I was specifically told in my birthing class last weekend that flu-like symptoms can be a sign of labor coming. The only distinction she gave is that if you have a fever, it is not labor related and you really are sick. Just take it easy as much as you can, that way your body can either rest up for labor, or rest up to prevent yourself from getting really ill.

By the last few weeks your body is just OVER being pregnant. I was so tired/ achey/ in pain the last two weeks. I couldnt even walk much I was SO swollen. All I wanted to do was cry!! But I didnt go into labor any earlier then I had thought. I ended up being induced at 40w2d.

I have my sons chest infection starting now. Different infections to. I seem to be falling apart and really do not wish for labour like this.

That's what I'm trying to do, get back to my normal self before labour comes. It's bad enough that it's likely to be a really hot day when I'm in labour.

I was trying to see if I could get a small hand fan somewhere as I know it will be hot too. I only ever gave birth in winter. Never realised summer was so hard to be pregnant in till now.

I've packed a spray bottle that I can fill with water :)

our delivery rooms are actually really cool, the one I went into the other day was lovely. The mws wanted to stay in there

I don't know what our delivery rooms are like, but I know the ward you go to afterward is sweltering! Hopefully the delivery rooms are nice and cool lol

yeah the wards normally are really hot. Its meant to rain for a few days so hopefully it cools down nicely if you have the baby soon x
