39 week scan?

I have a scan and i'll be 39 + 3 weeks.. so only 4 days off due date... so why would the midwife send me for a scan then?
i mean i'm not complaining cause i love seeing my bubba and i'll never be able to see her in my tummy again
but i was hoping she might be here, or at least starting to show by then
anybody got any ideas? i asked the ultrasound lady, and she didn't know, and i've tried to ring my midwife, but can't get throughh.. and i'm bit worried!

placenta issues or anything?

might just be a check up because you're
young and they like to keep an eye on
what's going on

never know she might be here by then
i wouldn't worry too much though

I'm not sure tbh but didn't want to R&R. Perhaps it's to check position of baby or the placenta? I'm sure it's nothing to worry about or else I'm sure she'd have got you in straight away, just try and ring her again a little bit later on though to put your mind at ease x

Do you have like spd or something? it might be to check baby's wait to see if you can have her naturally? i don't think it's anything to worry about as your midwife would have told you otherwise.

I'm being sent for a scan at 40+3! And it's supposed to be an emergency scan. So infuriating grr lol

Haven't really had any issues, apparently she's lying in a perfect postion, 3/5ths engaged.. measured perfect for weeks the whole way through..

had really bad back problems - which make it really hard to stand and stuff but they never take any notice - think they think i'm exaggerating ahhh at least i get to see her on monday, either in person or on the scanning thing..

was just a bit worried they might have found something wrong with her and not told me.. i think i'm at that stage where it's so close, that i feel like everything's gunna go wrong!

aww dont worry if it was that urgent they would of sent you for a scan within 24 hours..
it cant be nothing bad because between that time you could of had her and may end up never having this scan..
im thinking it might just be to check her weight and that shes in the correct position tho x

Ahh it was urgent, it was the first appointment they had - and they cancelled someone's appointment to give me it.. which kinda made me feel bad!

They just wanna make me worry.. i hope i've had her before then and don't need to go, or i go into labour just after, cause i'd like one last scan

Aww try not to worry, I am sure they just want to do some last minute checks or something.
If it was urgent then you would of had the scan by now & probably would of given you a heads up of what they were sending you for.
Just think that you get to see her soon, either way

ooh mine was urgent when they booked me in last week for a growth scan and they actually had 1 lady stay behind even after her working hours to do it lol so i wouldnt wory mine seems more urgent than yours and that was just to check her growth

fingers crossed shes here much more earlier than that thox

haa, ohhh it could be like for growth or something - although she sent me upstairs, cause she doesn't move as much as normal, so i could only think it might be something to do with that, but the other midwife didn't think so.. haha..

ahh it's urgent.. and the letter has big fat URGENT in bold red at the top.. (talk about not tryna worry someone) and my hospital are REALLY slow with scans like a girl i knew had an emergency scan because they thought she misacarried, and it took like 2 weeks to come through!
but i'm hoping they just didn't wait that long cause i haven't got that long hehe..
i'm just gunna go with an open mind!!

they keep send a friend of mine for scans bc her baby is small but here and her husband are half Asian there just short ppl but everything fine!
