3rd Degree Tear and Sex!!

How long did you wait to have sex after you had a tear??? I think we are going to wait till its been 6 weeks!!

The thought of having sex atm makes me whince but I have been feeling a bit horny!!

I had a 2nd degree tear and the thought of anything going anywhere near that area terrifies me lol. Df was hoping to get his leg over on our wedding night but I don't think I would feel comfortable with it so may wait a bit longer.

I feel fine down there now and the stitches have dissolved just not sure how long it will take for the actual tear to heal up and I'm petrified of doing anything incase it tears again and I have to have a horrid needle and stitches down there again (I swear the local was worse then giving birth lol). x

I was petrified of needles up until I gave birth now I don't care!! The local in my back felt very weird!!

With my first I tore really badly... They took him out with forceps etc. When I asked how many stitches the Dr. was giving me she said you don't want to know... It took me a long time to feel better! I waited until 7 weeks and tried to have sex, and had to stop mid way as it was not comfortable, mind you I think it was more of my fear than anything else... With this little one I had to have an episiotomy because of my first tear and the scar tissue... I have healed MUCH faster and am feeling pretty good down there... They say to wait 6 weeks and personally I will probably be waiting as close to that time as possible as I want to heal as best as I can, but use your judgement, keep checking yourself, we all heal at our own rates... I gave birth with forceps and had an episiotomy, I was in theatre 2 hours so I guess I must have quite a few stitches!! Its healing really well, but it aches today as I have been constipated!! Can't bloody win!!!!

My husband has been fab and I guess there is always 'other' stuff to do lol!!

oh, totally have been there! I had a 3rd degree and it hurt SO BAD. I didn't even think about sex for weeks and weeks! We did other things...manually.... if you know what I mean! We did try at 5 weeks and took it REALLLLY slow and lots and lots of lubrication. I was breastfeeding and was super dry. Just let DH know that you might not make it "all the way" but you can try!

i had a nasty 4th degree and didnt do it til 11weeks after! it wasnt too bad tbh

I had forceps and an episotomy first time and we dtd after 4 weeks and just took it really slow and it was fine.

This time i had a 3rd degree tear and although it feels fine down there... no pain or anything the thought of dtd is scaring the life out of me. I havent stopped bleeding yet so it's not on the agenda yet anyway but god knows when i'll be willing to give it a try. Dont know why i'm so scared this time round.

I had internal and external tearing, although I think it was only 2nd Degree. We had sex last night and it was awesome But up until now we've tried a few times and it's always been too painful, mainly the internal tear was the one that hurt the most. Last night it hurt, and we stopped...and we fooled around with foreplay another 20 mins or so and tried again..and it was fine.

Dylan is 8.5 weeks old.

I waited about 12 weeks & Millie is now 20 weeks & we've DTD 3 times since she was born.... Just take it really really slowly & have a glass of wine & lots of lube !! x
