hi mummys im all most 40 weeks pregnant now with my 1st baby girl :cloud9: i have heard that your baby is ment to calm down in the last couple of weeks!!! does this mean that she is not ready to come out yet???? x x:shrug:

Im a little behind you but my baby has been super active recently. Can barely stand up without him trying to tear his way out!

I had a CTG done last night and this morning and my baby was really, really active on both!

lol i no exacly how u feel does this mean there not ready to come out or that they are trying to come out hehehe

Well today, my baby is a little calmer, but these last few weeks she has been really active... last night she was rolling all over the place, and kicking and wiggling her little bottom around my bump- she was so active her kicks were hurting me! Generally, I don't think baby's calm down before they are born... hopefully not anyway, as mine is showing no signs of calming down and I am 39 weeks!

Id like to think hes ready to come out, but im guessing my luck just isnt that good.

From what I have been told lately by health professionals, it is a complete myth that bubbies slow down in later pregnancy. Whether this is said by some MW's just to reassure over cautious mums to be, I don't know, but as far as I have been told, any slowing of baby movements is a cause for concern. Both of my girls were super active right up until birth. Including when on the monitors :winkwink:
If anything movements change to bigger, more purposeful pushes rather than sharp kicks. But I would be more concerned if bub's slowed down at all.

Hi Hun for me, at 38 weeks she went really quiet, so much so that I went to my doc but she was fine, then the next week she got really active (more so than in the last 4 weeks before) and she was born that week and on the day i went into labour she was still really active so dont worry either way x

My babies got more active last few weeks and like someone above said I feel like he is going to tear out of me at some times! x

I have a lazy baby, lol! All the midwifes say the same altho he is fine but I have noticed he has been a little more active past few days! God I wish he's hurry up I'm so fed up,lol! x

I am 40 weeks pregnant today and my baby is really active. Like an earlier post said, I think they will move just as much - just different types of movement as they get bigger - later in pregnancy x

The mw told me just today that some babies act up and other babies slow down near the end so it really doesn't mean anything at all.

My little boy was like that up to the evening I went into labour. He was 2 days early. But what didn't halp he was an OP baby (back to back with me) so everytime he moved he dragged his hands or feet even an elbow across my tummy and would also constantly stick his limbs out, looked a bit like an alien trying to escape lol. But my little boy was mosst active evenings and early morning right up until labour and I knew from the weeks leading up to him arriving I would go into labour evening/early hours of morning and I did x x

Mine is super active and always has been. I don't think it will ever slow down

Hey! So we are :) How you feeling? I'm so fed up now I just want my baby here. Lets hope we are not kept waiting too much longer huh! xx

Bubs movements shouldn't be any less, but as other ladies have said they may change from sharp kicks to rolls etc due to less room. If bubs movements slow down or patterns change this could mean something is wrong so you should ALWAYS get this checked. Remember you know what's right for your baby but movements should NOT decrease. HTH :hugs: xxx

mine has quiet times but still wriggles around a lot. i just don't get as many kicks. more slow rolling shoves as she moves her knee or her bum across me.

a side question. anyone that's had a baby before, can you feel them moving during labour?

abz xx

i had heard that babies are a bit calmer just before they arrive too but i'm hoping this is a myth as my baby is going bonkers in here, and sometimes it really hurts, i'm sure he's got tools and he's actually trying to dig his way out, just wish he'd hurry up!
