So I have a question. Has anyone ever had AF like cramps and still ended-up pregnant? I've got a few other symptoms that I have never experienced before, but all of the sudden now it feels like AF cramps. Help!

Yes with my first :bfp: i got AF type pains a few days before AF was due, i remember saying to my DH we were out again this month and getting all upset then a few days later we got a :bfp: !!! The second time i had pains again but tried not to read too much into it after all they still could have been AF type pains. In the end it was a :bfp: again

Thank you. That is a relief to know!

No problem! You also get a lot of cramps and AF type pain the first few weeks of being preggers as well. All normal but scary and something the doctors dont tell you so it worried me silly! Will know better next time :flower:

Hi Everyone

My DH and I have been ttc #1 since July 2009 when I had my mirena coil removed. I am a very big girl...i have no problems with that and my DH met and fell in love with me this way. We've been together 4 years and married for 12 weeks today :)

My biggest worry was around my age as I'm now 39 so I went to my GP in April as I was concerned that my age would be a factor. My GP showed no concern over my weight and did the usual tests (cd3, cd21) and they all came back fine. I'm ovulating each month and my cycles are around 28-30 days.

I was referred to my hospital's sub-fertility clinic as I was so worried about my age and had the worst experience with them. At my appointment in June 2010, the nurse in charge said never mind your age it's your weight we have an issue with. She basically told me that it was my weight that would stop me getting pregnant and that even if their tests showed up anything being wrong then no treatments would be available to me because of my weight. She told me nothing but horror stories about being more prone to having a MC due to my weight, getting diabetes and having serious complications with the birth! I spent the journey home in tears. Suffice to say all the hospital blood and ultrasound tests came back with really good results and even my DH's SA was great.

They've written to me to say that we have a follow-up appointment for February 2011 as we will have been TTC for 18mths by then. So, I'm trying to lose even a little bit of weight, hoping that it will make a difference, but as someone said in a previous post, by the time I reach a healthy BMI I'll be post-menopausal lol.

It's been great to read the posts from women who have been able to get a BFP whilst overweight. I can only keep my fingers crossed that we will be so lucky sometime soon!

Welcome tigger_lass! Glad you're here... have you tried BBT charting to time BD?

Hi ladies!
Dh and I are TTC our first. He's 31 and I'm 26. This is our first cycle of not trying not preventing and I'm about (guessing) 6-7dpo now. Testing (way too early) on October 6th.

At this time, I'm probably about 40-45 pounds overweight (190 @ 5'4") but I'm by far the healthiest (and lightest) I've ever been. :happydance: I've lost 80 pounds since September 2009 (the good old fashioned eating healthy & exercising way :winkwink:).

I think the most important part of getting myself healthy in preparation for children is so I can teach (and show) my kid(s) good healthy habits from the very start. Those are lessons I lacked as a child and as a result, I have been obese since I was very young (7 or 8 years old). I wish my mom had taught me what I know now about how simple it is to be healthy & exercise. Learning healthy habits early on sure would have saved me a lot of suffering over the years. I'm very happy I now have the knowledge and healthy habits to pass on to my future child(ren). :flower:

:dust:

Well thanks girls. Hope you are finally stopping your lets bash Cedarwood fest. As I said, once you decide to stop the bashing, I will not see a need to defend myself.
(Just so you know MZ Italian - using swear words towards someone is considered an insult.)
(Bunnigirl - you offered peace now - good.
I said peace ages ago and lets end it as we will not agree but you continued on and tried to spread falsehoods Re myself)

Hi

Yes, religiously but began to get too obsessed between BBT, OPK, etc. DH and I have conflicting work patterns so we BD when we can without it feeling "planned" or "just going through the motions" if you know what i mean? I stopped charting as I was getting stressed and annoyed with him, like it was his fault he was at work? I do temp for a few days around ovulation but that's it.

Maybe it's something I'll revisit without being Mrs Obsessed lol ;)

Hello Tigger! - I got a bit obsessed too with charting and the CBFM so we have taken a break from it all and NTNP for a couple of months over the summer. I got the same and got really irate with my DH if he wasnt in the mood when i had a peak and stuff. Back on the TTC wagon now and i am really going to try not to get sucked into the obession again!

Littlespy - Welcome! Lots of :dust: for you both x

I'm a newb, and thought that this seemed like an apt place for my first post.

I'm 30, TTC #1, and have been seriously for about 10 months. NTNP for about 12 months before that. So in total, DBF and I are nearly at 2 years... frustrating!
I am a big lass, and used to be a lot bigger . I made the decision at the beginning of this year to lose some weight as I thought it would be more beneficial to my health and that of my future baby. Since losing about 3 stones, my cycle has gone crazy and although I'm still getting periods as normal, I am not even sure that I've ovulated in the last 10 months.

I didn't go on a strict diet, just ate healthier and did more exercise. More of a lifestyle change really.
OPK's are all negative, but I'm still having a regular cycle (albeit a long one of about 40 days). I did have positive OPK's before the weight loss... so it's all a bit confusing, lol.
I don't know whether to continue to lose more weight, or not!
I'm waiting for my period to come this month, then we're going gung-ho with charting temp, cm, and everything else I can about my cycle.

It's good to know that I'm not alone in this, and it's also good to read about fellow big girls who have become pregnant!

Hi,

Me and my DH decided to start TTC in September of this year. I've been trying to make him see we're ready for kids for the last 6 yrs so now he finally agrees I'm already starting to get obsessed with supplements and my cycle.

I am 5"8, 18st, size 20-22 (UK)so definately overweight and I really hope it all goes OK. I know I should have lost weight and have tried on numerous occasions trying everything but it always goes tits up and I end up on the sofa with a mint Aero. Really trying to eat healthy now though so might drop a few pounds.

Good luck to everyone TTC and Congrats to those who are BFP!

I love mint aero's!

I dont think being over weight affects getting pregnant does it?

I was bout a size 16 when i got preggy first time around when i was 22 yrs old... i fell by accident lol

Im alot smaller now so cant really comment but i see lots of larger people preg :)

Welcome to all the new ladies.
Af is still not here yet I should be due today or tomorrow. I had a huge temp drop today so I thought for sure af would be here by now. I doubt it was an implantation dip I think that I am just too late in my cycle for that oh well only time will tell.

Countrylass- that is strange about you not ovulating since losing weight. I know that if you lose weight very quickly that can happen but that doesn't seem to be the case with you. Are u exercising very vigorously that can sometimes stop ovulation and last but not least my favorite stress. If u r really stressed that can totally mess up your cycle I know all about this had a 55 day cycle last time first cycle we were ttc#3. That always happens to me. Also try bbt sometimes opk's don't go fully positive and u can still ovulate. A temp shift up can confirm ovulation because u can also get a positive opk and not ovulate. Anyways that's just my 2cents. Babydust I'll pray for u to o very soon.

Welcome to all the new ladies!!! We are glad you joined :)
I have not been on all night or day and part of me felt missing haha
I work at Verizon and I am either dead or slammed, but being slammed means I'm making $$$.
SOOOO I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and bought these 2 cross stitch kits that will take awhile to make but that is ok, it can occupt time during the day and watching tv at night with my hubby. One is a Birth Announcement , so its likes a Birth Certificate and the other is one where you can out a childs name...I am going to start making them and figure they should be done by the time we have a child
This is my first month really TTC and temping and charting, and I am so unsure about it but I think because it's my first month so I have no idea how anything should be. I downloaded 2 cool app's on my droid for temping and charting, even a cool one once we get our :bfp:

All of us ladies will get our :bfp: :dust: :dust:
