The topic of discussion seems to have changed from a very legitimate issue of obesity and pregnancy to some kind of misguided cheering club for "healthy" obesity. I am in the range of early obesity, I am trying to conceive a child, but I don't want any part of a group that celebrates obesity, ignores the facts related to obesity and treats members of the forum with such disrespect. Cedarwood's comments were not disrespectful to anybody, but the responses to her post were incredibly immature and of the bully mentality.
I do not think that this club cheers healthy obesity. Is it really so wrong for people to want to get together and talk about their struggles with weight in relation to TTC without having the negativity? People don't ban together to be chastized and told what they already know - that being overweight is unhealthy. Many of us are currently trying to lose weight. Such negativity could compromise some people's efforts. People need a positive and supporting atmosphere in this journey, not this conflict. There are ways to be supportive for people who are overweight and supportive ways to help them. Posting what people already know (that is is unhealthy) and focusing on that will only be a detriment.
