50% maternity allowance

hey all

i wondered if anyone knows how maternity is paid?
i got my contract through work which said im entitled to enhanced maternity pay. it said i would get full pay for 4 weeks then 90% for 2 weeks then 50% for a further 12 weeks then smp for the rest. i just wondered ... wen i get my 50% pay is it then + smp on top or is it just 50% of my wage has 50% of my wage is only about £40 more than smp and is not very much at all

I think it's 50% of your usual pay only

also look at family and working tax credits if you are your partner are on a low-ish income

Mine is half my normal pay but there was a girl on here who got SMP on top of her 50% so will depend on your workplace

It's 50% of your wage/pay. (mine was!)

I work for the NHS and it is 50% of pay + SMP so check with your employer
