5w5d and bleeding, help!

I'm 5w5d following and IVF fet, we had 2 5 day embryos transferred back and got a very strong positive 1 wk following transfer, had dome cramps this morning and was losing some brown discharge, no red blood so far but brown is there everytime I wipe, my clinic have brought forward my scan to this Fri but very worried and scared, please advice help needed. Have spent the day on sofa but were gutted, we have one ds from our original ivf cycle 2 yrs ago

Try not to worry- easier said than done! Brown bliss is old blood and red blood with cramping is when you worry, any cramps or pains?

I haven't really got any advice hun, but just for you to stay positive and just keep busy until your scan. I have had spotting/discharge in all of my pregnancies and they have been fine - lots of women do, it's not necessarily an indication of something bad.

i started having brown spotting at 6+3 and had a scan the next day and everything is fine baby is in the right place with a strong heart beat. Was put on bed rest for a week still some brown spotting but not as bad as it was. Take it easy and GL!

It's pretty common from what I've read. I started having brown spotting around that time as well, and had a pelvic exam to confirm that it was just from an irritated cervix. That could be your case. The doctor said that the hormone levels can make your cervix really irritable and cause bleeding like that. Hope all goes well!

Thank u girls, trying to keep positive but hard! Had some cramps yesterday lunch but not had anymore since I don't think, still brown everytime I wipe, was hoping it would have stopped this morning. Praying for friday to hurry up. Our little boy going to his grandma for day today so I can rest.

Had no more brown discharge since yesterday, it gradually slowed all day, however it never actually marked my pad just was always there when I wiped. Had no discharge at all today, is that normal? Feel likemy tummy is tender? Had some achey type feelings today but no cramps. Still resting on sofa and waiting it out for scan on Friday, desperately hoping that everything will be ok but scared to be too positive.

I'm taking progesterone and estradiol due to the IVF, does anyone know if this would stop me bleeding if I had miscarried?

I had tons of thick dark brown spotting with my second for about a week. With this pregnancy I began spotting pink/brown/red/yellow the day after my BFP and it lasted for two weeks. Saw the baby on ultrasound yesterday with a strong heartbeat. It really is very common to spot.

I don't know how much different IVF is in early pregnancy than natural conception but I am now 6w1d. At 4w2days I had my yearly exam done in which I started spotting. That was on a Thursday, the doc told me it was normal to spot for a couple of days after since being pregnant causes more blood in the cervix & your cervix gets irratated pretty easily. I had the same type of spotting you are describing for the first 3 days after the pap exam. Then come Saturday night I had bright red bleeding for about 30 minutes. Then Sunday afternoon it turned to clotting, but still not a lot only when I went to pee. I called the doctor on call & they sent me straight to the ER. After several hours, a pelvic exam & an ultrasound, they found my baby was just fine, blood levels were great & no blood in the uterus. They told me some women just bleed/spot throughout the first trimester & sometimes the whole pregnancy. That unless I was bleeding through a regular pad an hour & cramping I should be fine. I have been spotting ever since. I have had follow up blood work done & my hcg levels are still rising so my doc feels everything is fine. I go back on Sept 13th for more blood work & an ultrasound. Hopefully at that point we can hear the heartbeat. That will make me feel a million times better. Even though I have already had one ultrasound they didn't let me see it at all.

Best of Luck, try to stay calm & relaxed (trust me, I know how hard that is). We may just be a couple of the few women that get blessed with NOT losing our monthly during pregnancy!!!! lol

It infuriates me when I see people say not to worry about brown blood!!!

If it has persisted over the last few days then go get checked out. It could very well be nothing, but for some girls, myself included, it can mean very bad news.

I don't know about the progesterone question. Fingers crossed for you! I hope everything turns out ok!!

im 4 weeks [roughly] and have had brown spotting since the day AF was due---I only see it when I wipe, usually just a tint on the toilet paper, but sometimes its stringy brown CM [tmi sorry!]

im really nervous

Well girls we have bitter sweet.news. one healthy lookin baby with a good heartbeat however we should have been having twins! So feeling a little sad really for what could have been yet at the same time thrilled that we have one healrhy babe.

Back in 4 weeks for another scan and due date is 30th April - the day before Owens 2nd birthday!

awww Great to hear you are ok!! Sorry about the second baby. I can't imagine being all excited & sad all at the same time (as if hormones are crazy enough at this point)... Congrats on a healthy baby!!!

My due date is April 30th also, which is right before my birthday on May 2nd!!!
