7week old drinking 4oz every 2hrs is this normal?

My lb was drinking 4oz every 3-4 hrs but when he got 6weeks old he started only lasting 2hrs between feeds I assumed he was having a growth spurt but he is still drinking the same at 7weeks! I've tried upping his oz to 5 but he will still leave an oz. I was just wandering is this okay and that I'm not over feeding him! Tia! X

You cant over feed a baby on milk, leaving a oz of the bottle is perfect as it means they are dirnking what they need and leaving the rest

This is exactly how much my DD has. Yesterday she honestly fed once an hour!

Thats amazing, be happy and dont worry at all your baby will be growing in no time at that rate, my baby fluctuates, shes 2 months and the most shes ever taken since she was born is 4 oz, (only started the 4 oz thing 2 weeks ago) some days will not take more then 2 or 3, so by 7 weeks if your babe is taking 4 oz ALREADY, i envy you! ahahha happy feeding

My little one is eating between 4-5 ounces every 1 1/2-2 hrs. He is 6 weeks.

I actually spoke to my doctor about this and he said so long as baby is eating around 2x's his weight in ounces per day, it is fine. My LO is about 13 pounds so he should be eating 26 ounces in a day. He sleeps about 7-9 hours at night so I think he is trying to make up for that. Hope this helps.

My LO is on 6oz every 4hrs so does work out the same x

Evie has days where she has 5oz every 3-4 hours and then days where she has 3-4 oz every 2 hours. It all adds up to around the same at the end of the day so doesn't matter ow often they feed really

Hate to tell you this, but my baby is 14 weeks old, and eats a little over 4 oz, every 2 hours from about 5am until 10pm. She'll go longer at night, and this has been progressive as she got older, so soon I would hope you'd start to see 3 hours, then 4, then 5. Now we occasionally get a 6 hour stretch, so I'm hoping for that to be regular, soon. Good luck!

Mine continued drinking every 2 hours until she was about 8 months old. She was consuming a whopping 50oz a day sometimes. Still drinks 40+ oz a day
