8 days late, but don't believe I'm pregnant

This is going to sound strange I know

I'm 8 days late today, have no symptoms that I have noticed & have not bothered testing because of this. DH & I said we would test on Friday because that would be CD 36, the latest I've ever been.

But I don't even know whether to test then. I have literally 0 symptoms apart from a missed period which is normally no later than CD 29-30.
I keep feeling occasionally like af is going to start since I was due on CD 26-27 but so far its a no show.
I'm confused. My last pregnancy (Chemical) I had every symptom in the book, but now there's nothing apart from a bit of PMS bloating & cramps now & again about 2-3 times a day that I notice.

Its been so long TTC I just don't feel like there's any incentive to test to see a
I think my heart would literally just break even though we haven't really been that focused on TTC anymore
What else can cause a very late period other than stress?
I just feel like this is a cruel trick. I've been staying calm & telling myself AF will come, but what if she doesn't? I don't 100% know when I o'd because I stopped temping, but my past 3 cycles have been 25-27 days. Now I'm on CD 34.
We did around the time I normally ovulate & TCOYF says I o'd on CD 14, but that's based on CM & I only noticed 1 day of fertile EW CM this month.

Anyone been in this situation?

P.S My CM normally tries up a day or two before AF which it seemed to, but now its all watery & milky & I feel fertile. There isn't lots of it, but its enough to have to wear a liner. My cervix is going between high & low & is hard. I just don't get it at all.
And if you do not feel comfortable replying to this thread then feel free to just pass me on because I know what it is like TTC. I just hope I put enough of a warning in the title x

aww, love...even if it is disappointing, at 8 days late I would rather know than not know. You can drive yourself crazy! you've had a 3ww! I say go for it. Late periods can happen for a multitude of reasons, but you know your body best. You've got people here to support you if you see a BFN or a BFP...and there is always ben and jerry's if it's the first Be the brave woman you know you are, and POAS. I hope it's a BFP for you!!

I'm never late like that but I know what you mean. I haven't POAS in ages because I just know there's no point. Don't even keep a preg test in the house for a just in case scenario. Even when I'm doing treatments my doc always sets up a beta for the end of the cycle and I tell her don't bother.

I recently talked to a councilor (specializing in IF) about my negativity and total lack of hope and she said that it's normal to be scared of hope after being smashed down so many times. She suggested just to think in terms of 'maybe'... so like maybe you are and maybe you're not. Only one way to find out. Good luck.

Other possible causes of a missed period other than pregnancy are anovulatory cycles and persistent ovarian cysts. Hope you got a bfp!
