If ur baby is ok with his milk, it's too early to start at 8 mnths. I'm not planning to drop his 3rd bottled before he's one. & will start 1st by replacing one feed with cow milk at 11.5 mnths, then drop it slowly. Omar is not keen on bottles, but I still make sure he takes 3 bottles xx
Megan just had her 9 month check today & her dr said she needs to be having 16oz a day min. and that by 11 1/2 months she should maintain that same amount - but start transitioning to cows milk. Here though she would have 1/2 cup with breakfast, lunch, dinner & 4oz at a snack when she is a year old.
Alyssa is on 2 bottles a day. 7oz in the morn and 3-4oz at bedtime. I had to drop the afternoon bottle as she was having only 1oz each time. Seen 2 HVs about this and both were happy with it, they agree shes done it early but are happy she is gaining weight and is thriving. They just said to make sure she has a varied diet.
Evie has 3 7oz bottles a day as well as 3 meals with puddings and fruit/snacks thru out the day (piggy!) I think on average she has around 18-20oz of formula milk per day and then a few oz in her porridge/yoghurts so she takes around 24-26 oz per day.
I certainly wont drop her down to 2 bottles until she shows signs she wants it that way
He has 4 7oz bottles a day. He was breastfed until 7.5 months when I stopped because I got pregnant again....
I have his health check at the end of the month so I will ask the doctor then maybe- I live in Japan and was going by what was on the packet which added up to about 24oz a day (but was anywhere from 3-5 bottles from how I read it)....It is soy formula though so I will be leaving him on it until he was 2 but had hoped to get him down to 2 bottles a day by age 1. One in the morning and one at night.....
He eats 3 very good sized meals a day (for his age at least). He weighs just on 8kg now.
thanks for the responses ladies, I was just wondering if it was pretty much the same for everyone else and it seems like it is! he loves his grub and is getting so big, gonna miss giving him his bottles as it's the only time now he still feels like a 'baby' to me!
