I know.....what is a mother with 5 kids and one on the way...asking this question!!! but i havent faced this situation before with the others....how do i get him to stop waking up at night for a bottle?

My advice would be let him cry it out, but i imagine with others in the house its hard to do, you could try offering water instead of milk...some it works, somme it doesn't. Good luck x

Good idea to offer water - bub will soon learn there is no longer a good reason to wake up. My friend was advised to send her breast fed bub to her mother's for a couple of nights, so the boob wasn't physically available. It helped to break the cycle, it should work for a ff bub too..... just a thought.

yeah i did the crying method 2 months ago and only took 2 days to work was awesome..buthen 4 days later he got really sick for like a week and since then cant do it.....but yeah i will try the water...and guess i should do the crying thing..its just hard cus im in the early weeks of pregnancy so im extra tired...but i know its worth it in aweek if i just do it...thanks girls

I've been wondering how to do this with Charlotte too, but I think she's actually HUNGRY at night. She eats 4-8oz of formula when she wakes up...and she gets up twice a night...UGH

Kathryn was waking up a lot too, because she is a hungry baby and needs the extra bottle at night (she's growing fast and is tall for her age), so we've been giving her a bottle right before we go to bed (while she's till in her crib-she's ff so uses bottles- because she wakes up when we move her), so now she only wakes up once (sometimes twice, sometimes she sleeps through). So the dream feeding seems to be working for us, maybe you could try it.

Colton woke up until about 11 months for a bottle. Finally I just let him CIO once and he went back down after 5 minutes.. so I know now that he doesn't need one. :) Hope he starts sleeping better for you. Colton still wakes like every other night, but is usually fine with just a quick cuddle and then back to bed.. maybe he just wants a little cuddle?

Jacob was waking 3-6x a night last week. I have just spent the last week getting absolutely no sleep as i was persistent i wasnt going to feed him so the first 3 nights well HELL i was up evey 30mins re-settleing him with him dummy and NOT feeding him if i offered water it was only a mouthful or 2 to wet his mouth etc. But after all that hard work the last 2 nights he has slept from 8pm till 6am!! Only got up twice in the night to pop his dummy back in and that was it :) so if your persistent it will pay off XxxX
