This may or may not be the best place for me to be sharing but I am 31 and was born without a right hand. I was lucky enough however to have a wrist. So i am in fact able to move the end of my arm which has enable me to do well just about everything I also have small fingers which are nothing more than little bumps smallrt than a pea. but i also have a thumb which is also very small but much bigger than the rest. It is about the size of bean and they all have finger nails very little though. The thumb helps me type quite a bit and it also allowed me to easily learn to tie my shoes. I reason for sharing is I have a desire to work with kids and their parents (kids with hand /arm birth limitations). I am here to offer my insight into a life without a hand for any of the parents that might have questions. I was more importantly hoping for help finding where I could be most useful/ helpful. I live in North County San Diego in Cardiff by-the-Sea 92007.

About me: My name is Marty, I am 31. Born and raised by the beach in Cardiff. Learned to suf by 10, played soccer and baseball sonce I was 6 and 7. When in the major division of little league when kids are about 12 I was actually voted onto the All-Star team by players and parents as the best catcher in the league. I graduated high school with good grades. Passed my Series 7 exam and became a stock broker when I was 19. Ended up going to college and getting a Finance degree from Cal State Univ. San Marcos. I am currently a licensed Long Term Care Specialist, but do not feel it is my true calling. So this is a very big step for me considering I am looking for a career.
