a question for a friend

ive got a friend of mine sat with me as i type.

shes panicing. her period is one week late. when it didnt turn up she went out the next day and got a first response - negative. for some strange reason, and shes blushing as i state that out!, she kept the test. still no period so the weird woman, love her really, decided to pee on it again this morning - positive! now shes panicing. shes spent all day researching it and she knows she shouldnt have used it twice and every site shes looked at , and shes looked at alot, also states this because the tip of the test is only supplied with one use of re-agent (dye) and this is why it shouldnt be used twice as once its pee'ed on theres no more dye. this is confusing her as she has found three sites where three different woman have said they've used a test twice and it showed up positive and all three have turned out to be pregnant.
shes panicing as her and her boyfriend split up two weeks ago and shes scared of being alone.
knowing her research (the only three women shes come across to have a positive on the second use have actually been pregnant) do you think this could be an actual positive.
i told her i didnt want to say anything without the advice of all you lovely ladies as knowing my baby mushy brain (yes still here after 9 months after giving birth!) i would probably say the wrong thing! she showed me the test and even though the line is faint there is a definate pink line there and if i didnt know it had been used twince i would say to her yes its a positive.
surely if there was any dye left on the test and hcg was detected then it would dye the first line showing a positive??! im being thick as i say still got my mushy baby brain.
i'm taking her to the shop tomorrow and getting her another test as she doesnt get paid for another two weeks and cant afford another one now as shes spent all her luxury money for the month. she just wants to know in your opinion could this be a positive knowing that it has already been for three other women.

shes panicing because of course her ex has left her in one of the most horrible ways and now the prospects of being pregnant. they decided four months ago to start trying for a baby so she came off the pill. cycles like clock work since coming off. the two weeks ago found out he was sleeping with her half sister and she is infact three months pregnant with his baby, he turns around to her and says his priorities lie with her sister as they want to bring the baby up together! and now shes scared sh*tless basically. xx

tell her to relax for now tho as much as she can...using a test twice is not a good idea. the dye has already went through the test. can you not go to a dollar store to get a test..they are just as reliable. i wish your friend well

thats where im taking her tomorrow as you get two tests in a box, that way she can take the tests over the next couple of days to confirm it.
she says shes feeling worried about it because of the fact that the only people shes found on the internet to use a test twice and get a positive after second time round have in fact actually turned out to be pregnant.
she doesnt believe in abortion so this is not an option for her, but also she knows she wont cope well as a single mum as she suffers easily with anxiety and depression when left to her own devises, but then shes also left with the fact that she knows she couldnt go through a pregnancy and give the baby up for adoption. so its loose loose loose for her at the moment.
i have said to her though that once we know for sure we will sit down and discuss every single tiny available option she could possibly have and work out what is best for her and the baby if she is pregnant. xx

haha shes just pulled the funniest face. shes just said to me 'urgh just think if i am definately pregnant then my baby is going to be cousin to my sisters baby but also half siblings. how gross is that?'!!! which is so very true. i think the idea of a baby is starting to sink in with her now. xx

hi honey this actually brought tears to my eyes i cant believe how low some people are!! i wish her all the best and my thoughts are with her. and if she is pregnant she will cope because she has a wonderful friend sitting next to her. i had 2 nervous breakdowns and suffered with panic attacks when i was younger and brought up my 2 kids on my own for 10 years and its the proudest and best thing i have done with my life x sylvia x
