Hi Hun. I'm not totally sure so I'd definitely check with your midwife, but I would imagine gentle movements such as rocking back & forth, side to side and rotating would be good for you, would help to strengthen your muscles x
I've been using mine for SPD since 20 weeks, won't do you any harm to use it. They don't actually encourage labour just help your baby into the correct postition.
I use mine for bouncing and rolling my hips on it.
