Not everyone gets a midwife?? Thats weird to me
That's fantastic Baby Love!!!! I think it's fantastic that the biological father wants to be involved with your future child too. I'm sure you will all make a great family.

Thanks Lu-is! I think we will too, although I'm biased lol. Where in Canada are you? x

i was just going to ask are you going to ivf with the man or ttc with sex.. but you mentioned a turkey baster?
I think you will make a great family!! As someone befor said (sorry forgot who it was!!) All we need is love and it sounds like you've little bunddle will get plenty of that!!!
Good luck!!
In Canada people traditionally get an OBGYN (obstetrician/gynecologist) which is great since you definitely need one if you have a high risk pregnancy. But if it is a normal risk then you don't need a medical doctor (especially a specialist!). You get much more personal care with a midwife and they can handle most things that come up during pregnancy & labour. They are two different streams though - you either go traditional and get a midwife or you get a doc - they don't share the labour/delivery room and only midwives do home births. If something happens and you need medical intervention, you are transferred to the doctor.
For the record, as long as you have a normal pregnancy I could not recommend a midwife more!
xx
good luck baby love !!...if i remember correctly when i was still in the lttc section we had a member in there who got pregnant with turkey baster as well with no problem...
anyway i am in San Francisco...as for me i had a obgyn follow me ...my husband and i we had a long ttc journey and some complications during the pregnancy so we felt more confortable with a obgyn...i was glad as we had a complicated birth as well somewhat too...
but every one journey is diferents so go with what you feel is best for you
I want a midwife and a home birth...bit daring with my first but I want my comforts around me, I don't really like hospital environments. So you had a midwife...was it a home birth? Any midwives in particular you'd recommend?
I hope my pregnancy will be straightforward as I am young, fit, healthy...I am already on prenatal vitamins (lol). As far as I'm concerned I'm good to go! I'm even at a point where I'd risk it without OHIP, but my wife won't hear of it, more's the pity...
Hope you're having a good day with your little munchkin
Turkey baster.
The turkey baster method worked for us too We ttc for one month with two different donors. Can't say it was specifically *fun*, but it worked
