I really want to breast-feed, I was not successful with my daughter because of lack of help. So I pumped, not something I want to do again. The problems started from latching; I didn't know how to hold her, how to latch, so we didn't make it past stage 1. I have nightmares that I can't breast-feed and that really gets to me. :hissy: What advice would you give a Mum who wants to breast-feed? How can I educate myself?

i had heaps of trouble feeding my first 2 sons with attaching properly and had no help or advice but i kept trying and managed to do it for 6-8 weeks with both then this time around i had no problems at all and am still feeding almost 5 months later i think every baby is different and you just need to ask for help and try not to stress if you cant get it right you will work it out and most of all dont give up it can take several weeks to adjust to it and after you've sought help and really really tried if its still not working for you dont beat yourself up about it you did your best and tried. I personally find just the normal nursing position best and find pinching the nipple to shape of babies mouth helps with attaching. heres a link that gives some good advice and tips good luck.https://www.boswellbunch.com/simone/Babies/Breastfeeding_Tips.html
