Advise ladies please as a bit worried (ffn test)

Hey ladies,

Just wondering if anyone had expericened this?

I had a positive result from a ffn (feral fibronectin) test (tests if your in early labour ) done on Tuesday and since I've had constant backache (which sometimes gets real bad) tightenings that don't hurt and on and off period type pains

When I had the test I was already 1cm dilated and cervix was short & soft and was checked because of these tightenings. 4 days earlier my cevix was closed and long so they are obv doing something!!

I replied on your third tri thread. I took part in a research trial in my last pregnancy and used the tests every two weeks. My first daughter was a 27 weeker so anything to help was worth a try.
I had positives at 22,31&34 weeks and didnt deliver until 40+2.
In short, a positive means nothing in general. It CAN mean you will deliver, and tbh at your gestation its likely to be positive now and it still can mean anything.

So all in all i would say dont worry, but check out the other girls stories in here in case u feel bubz would be on its way, and what to expect
