I had an ectopic pregnancy that was treated with a shot of methotrexate in June. My hcg finally hit 0 about 3 weeks ago, and I'm anxiously awaiting my first AF. We want to start trying again as soon as I get this AF outta the way. :haha: So my question is for anyone who's had a methotrexate shot...how long until you had your AF?? Thanks so much, and baby dust to you all! :flower:

Hun so sorry for your loss. I never had the shot with my ectopics instead had surgery. I was told to wait 3 months with the surgery to let my body heal not sure how different things are with the shot best of luck to you.

My period started exactly 4 weeks after my second methotrexate shot. But it varies from person to person. I had my period while my levels were at a 6 but I did not ovulate that cycle or the one right after that. Make sure you are taking prenatals to help build your folic acid back up as methotraxate depletes your body of it and GOOD LUCK!

Thanks so much for your responces! I just want everything to get back to some sort of normal. And I'm turning 35 soon..... Thanks again!

After my first MC, I had chemotherapy which involved MTX.
I did my own research and spoke to the specialist nurse who advised a 3 month wait as it can potentially lurk in your system. We accidentally tried 2 months after the last lot (thought I was still anovulatory) but luckily I didn't get a BFP. We started TTC properly the cycle after that.
The problem with MTX is it interferes with cell division.
It stopped me ovulating normally for a short time, but things soon clicked back into place.
If you look on my FF page, chart 13 was my first normal cycle after the MTX.

It might be different for you. If you just had a shot or two, maybe there is no wait time?

Good luck & I hope you get your intrauterine BFP very soon! xx
