One of the things I've started to pick up are muslin cloths as I know that you get through tons with a baby.

Just got a delivery from M&S and opened the muslins (these ones) and they are so soft and lovely.

The others one I have are from ASDA (these ones)

And the M&S ones are SO SO SOOO much nicer.

Won't be getting any more ASDA ones.

In fairness the Asda ones are MUUUCH cheaper, and everything from M&S is just that little bit of extra lovely!! I love the colours you got from M&S.

I had a good argument yesterday with my husband about muslins! I wanted our first baby "splurge" to be on some Aden + Anais swaddle muslins

His head nearly fell off when I told him the price! :haha: (No, I didn't get any lol)

Thanks for the M&S recommend!

Actually my M&S were cheaper than the ASDA - ASDA are £3.50 for 3 - so that's £1.17 each.

M&S are £14 for 10 - so normally £1.40/each - but I bought mine on a 20% off deal, so paid £11.20 so only £1.12

But in future for the extra 23p I'll always opt for M&S I think. :) And I looove the colours too!

Ohh a bargain in M&S is something of a rarity! (Maybe I'm just too cheap?!?!)

Aldi do sets of bright coloured pattern ones on occasion too. In defence of the Asda/Tesco ones - after a few washes (and they get a LOT) they all soften up nicely anyway.

Hahaha - if I'd have posted from my phone and not my PC it probably would have been autocorrected to Muslims!

I got the 5 pack from m&s https://www.marksandspencer.com/Pac...1_17&nodeId=1503482031&sr=1-17&qid=1355848521 with the 20% off too (£6.40), they are really soft! I also bought a pack from Lollipop Lane https://www.lollipoplane.co.uk/uk/bathtime/muslin-squares/6-piece-muslin-squares-pink-birdie.html

What is it? Diapers?

Muslin is a type of material used in lots of things. It's a really really fine cotton - very thin.

They're used a lot in raising babies because they can be used for all sorts of things. Think of them like a tea towel but nicer to babies because they're so soft and light.

So they are great for placing over your shoulder whilst you wind - to catch any spit up. Wiping faces and hands. Placing as a "protective layer" between a public changing matt, or sofa or something. They make a very light blanket.

And lots of things. The more I'm reading up the more uses I am reading of lol.

Ok do everyone says to have lots of them but how many is lots like 5, 10...100?

We are going to use them as nappies until she's big enough to fit into our one size ones.

So we're getting plain white ones for nappies and colours/patterns for burp cloths/blankets etc.

Thinking of getting 12-15 white and then the same amount or maybe a few more coloured ones.

10-15 is a good amount as obv your be washing them, unless you wash like once a week then get 20!

I had 10 for my daughter but gave them away/binned so need new.
