It's understandable that a lot of people are calling for benefit removal, but what would it really achieve? People who will find it even harder to get a job (who would employ a convicted criminal if there were someone otherwise equally able without that record) and who also can't get benefits... How are they going to survive apart from committing further crimes?

Yes every one of those rioting animals should pay for their actions, but not in ways that further screw over everyone else in the form of higher crime rates

One problem, as we have seen today, is that there are many working people who decided it was a good idea to see what they could grab.

i also agree with a reduction in benefits - not having them taken a way fully. i know they're knobs who couldn't give a shit about anything or even if they had children to look after. but so many people could potentially be left in poverty, which could also potentially make things a lot worse.

I don't believe that stopping their benefits will help the situation. It will fuel a fire.

I definitely agree that we shouldn't live in fear but I just don't agree that stopping their payments will solve the situation. How would it help things? It's a punishment but it isn't a solution.
