I do not want to live in a society where guns are commonly brought into the equation by the police. While people may not care what happens to the perpetrators of these crimes, you can guarantee that innocent people will be caught up in the crossfire, injured and possibly killed. That is not acceptable to me at all.

Guns dont need to be brought into the equasion at all, it will make the situation worse. But bringing the army in doesn't mean that guns WILL be involved they all carry them anyway, thats how this all started, and they're not allowed to use them unless in certain circumstances.

Tbh I can't see it ending til there's nothing left, or they get bored. It's too widespread for anything else. Just pray that too many people don't end up killed in the meantime

I agree with Marley, even though I'm pro-firearms. Introducing them at this point would be disasterous. They need to use non-lethal force and other methods to contain the rioters. I think they should be very ashamed of themselves. They aren't solving anything or making any type of statement. They are just ruining lives and scaring people out of their wits! I hope everyone down in England is staying safe.

Its just pure shocking! Just been speaking to my friend her friend has been working 22hour days since this started!!!

We have just planned our action if it starts here aswell, We live in a nice quite part far enough away from shops so if it does come here our homes should be safe..

Feel so bad for those who have lost there homes to this

I have alot of respect for the mobs of Turkish men who were chasing away the rioters from there businesses last night...They managed to fight them off in the end, which is amazing!

I think that with help from the police and the public, these thugs can be defeated, but they know we fear them so they carry on!

People are losing there livelyhoods here...yet the thugs have absolutely nothing to lose...another spell in prison for them is nothing...

I think the only way is extreme force. There should be a curfew tonight, put warnings on tv, radio, internet, tannoys (sp?) in the street then if anyone is found on the streets they should tear gas them.

I agree. They arent coping with it at all, they dont know how to handle them. All I see last night was them getting away with what they wanted to

But the army aren't going to know/do any better. They don't get trained in riot control. All we'd be doing would be to introduce guns into the equation. The last thing I want would be something like bloody sunday happening again.

Can I just say that yes they do. Im ex RMP, daughter of an RA and ex wife of an RE and all 3 of us during our careers were riot control trained x
