All these riots everywhere!!!

Water cannons are powerful, they arent supposed to be used in this country but I think they should be.

All London cells are full now. They are sending all those arrested around the country!

As for your car being torched, surely you have insurance?

Iv only just caught up with the past few pages so forgive me if this has been mentioned but Iv read that we wont be using water canons???

The Home Secretary appeared to rule out sending water cannon or the Army onto the streets of the capital, despite a third night of violence.

Speaking on Sky News, she said that police intelligence and the support of local communities would help quell the disturbances.

"The way we police in Britain is not through use of water cannon," she said. "The way we police in Britain is through consent of communities."

Do we actually have any water canons in this country?
I'm confused as some people say they are sending them in and others are saying they aren't?
Something is definately needed here :(
Iv got a feeling it's going to get worse too :nope:

Also :hugs: to everyone caught up in this.. This is just awful. I'm so disturbed by the actions of these pathetic lowlifes I really am :(

No the water cannons are in Ireland they would have to be sent over. I cant wait to hear what Cameron has to say when he gets out this COBRA meeting.

See, in the US, this would have already been put down with tear gas and non-lethal force, such as beanbag guns. There isn't even any reason for their rioting anymore. People are so stupid and don't even understand what really happened.

They can't send in the army, there would start to be deaths. Best left to the police who know how to handle rioters

But do they ? There's so much about people's 'rights' these days that everyone's too scared to act! I'm totally disgusted to live in this country right now, and I'm really scared for the first time about what kind of place my baby girl is growing up in!

and also as for that comment by Tereasa May "The way we police in Britain is through consent of communities."

Well we give consent to bloody well use them ffs!

x

Ha, they were just talking about beanbag guns on LBC! I'd never heard of them before!

Depends on the quaity of your cover. Many dont include 'civil unrest'

 I agree. They arent coping with it at all, they dont know how to handle them. All I see last night was them getting away with what they wanted to

The police NEED to be able to use a stronger force, they aren't coping. They are unable to protect the fire crews now. It's unsafe and getting rediculous :(. I'm also looking forward to seeing what Cameron's going to say.

Oh never heard of that. Heard of Natural disasters but not civil unrest. Im gonna put mine in an underground car park in that case :haha: I have fully com but who knows!

On a serious note I am pretty sure the insurance wouldnt get away with it. I would take them to court if it were me. No way would I pay insurance for something I wouldnt be able to claim on.

Well I think a beacon of hope is there now in that the same social networking sites are co-ordinating clean up operations to help sort the mess from last night. People standing together to sort their neighbourhoods xx

I may have to check my paper work ...!!

And the main cause of concern would be how would I get to work ... and to Coventry at the weekend without it? And I'm due the baby in Oct, I can't not have a car :(

I only just got it and haven't even paid it off and I would probably get no where near what I paid for it ... the value goes down straight away ... the car place I got it form tried to get me to buy this thing where you will always get the price you paid for it but I didn't have the money to take it up :dohh:

My OH is a firefighter and he is on stand by to go up to LONDON if it all kicks off tonight.... he could be stuck up there for days (if there is enough police force to protect them) its his last night shift tonight before he has two weeks off as we are getting married on Friday!!!!

I really hope he doesnt get called up there!!!

We all are in the same boat, we need our cars. Is there nowhere you can put it? Work is not important if your safety is at risk I wouldnt even attempt to go in.

:hugs: Smelly. I know how you feel. My dad is a retired police officer and was always on standby for any type of rioting or potential rioting in California :hugs: It's not a good feeling knowing your loved ones could be thrust into something so unpredicatable and volitile.

It's park in the car park behind our apartment but that hasn't seemed to stop people burning others :(

OH rang me on his way to work and said "I've just seen ten cars all burnt out shit the gates" (The gates don't lock ... they're just gates) and my car is on full show from the street because of where my allocated space is.

I wouldn't be as concerned if I didn't live on this street, I'm not even from Liverpool. God I wona go home :(
