It seems to be getting closer to us, uxbridge, slough feltham just closed aload of roads and shops and now I hear rumers about a group gavering in staines and all our police and air support are in london.
I never thought somewhere like around here would be effected.

aidansmummy - I would be very careful what you say about your brother and what his CO is saying to him on here. Obviously the press dont know so civvies shouldnt know either you could get your brother in alot of trouble especially since this is in general chatter and anyone can read it! My cousin recently got into trouble for posting things on facebook about libya and he thought his facebook was all private!

So sorry for all you guys who have been caught up in all this crap. I don't know the complete ins and outs, but have seen a bit on TV and it just looks ridiculous. The approach they take in northern ireland here is a no nonsense one. Plastic bullets and water cannons. Even if all the water cannons are here - could they not have shipped them over during the day today?!!
I heard a policeguy on this morning say the UK have no water cannons - last time I looked we in northern Ireland are part of the UK.

In the last hour several shop windows have been smashed in West Bromwich. Up to 200 youths in hoodies have been seen on the streets and police have now pushed the crowd to one side.

Reports of significant police presence in Northfield with most shop closed, issues at St Johns retail park, crowds gathering at Whitmore Reams/Dunstall area. Reports of serious mobs gathering in Oldbury also.

Lots of reports stating that everyone should keep away from Wolverhampton. The ASDA has apparently been smashed up. More info to come.
