I have not read the entire thread.
I've been watching the news,
Is it really that bad financially in England that some people feel the need to loot and steal?
I know your guy's taxes are high, but please enlighten a foreigner.
I see a lot of it is family owned businesses and such, what for?
seems to me they are rioting the wrong lot. :nope:
Any real talk of the military coming in?
I'm sorry this is happening. :(

Nah we don't feel the need to loot and steal. These are just twisted thugs who are doing it for 'fun' and using the government and lack of jobs as an excuse. It's pathetic, some as young as 11 have been out destroying properties, its ridiculous. Apparently the army will not be coming in :( which is ridiculous. They have them fighting in other countries but won't have them fight for ours, this country is all to hell.
 
Just seen on the news that in Aston, someone was shooting at police and firearms units and armoured vehicles have been deployed to find and deal with the person/people in question.

Damage to Blenheim pub in Bulwell by a group of people in their late teens/early 20s (20:30)

Clarendon College in Sherwood Rise, Nottingham, has been fire bombed. Fire service attended and extinguished fire. Glass in door smashed and has caused considerable damage (22:00)

Car fires have been started in New Basford and Old Basford

Bargain Booze in Bestwood Park, Nottingham has been targeted by a group of teens throwing bricks and stones at shops. No damage reported

A group of people outside the Council House in Old Market Square are trying to pull barriers down

6 men are causing damage to property by smashing glasses and throwing items in Canal Street, Nottingham (22:22)

Golden Fleece public house on Mansfield Road, Nottingham has been targeted by 10 youths causing damage (20:54)

Damage to cars in North Sherwood Street, Nottingham (22:04)

Youths have set a tree on fire in Elm Avenue, St Ann’s (20:46)

Bin fire in Delta Court, North Sherwood Street, Nottingham (22:04)

30 youths have been seen throwing stones at St Ann’s police station (23:16

Meadows Police Station is being attacked by 15-20 males (23:10). A police vehicle is on fire outside

Theres a helicopter circling over my area :nope: maybe I won't be able to asleep after all..
 
I really feel social networking sites are playing a bit part in allowing the organising of all these riots - I know there have been people using them for good today; to organise clean ups, but there are so many reports of tihings being planned on facebook and twitter and rioters on their blackberries - why don't they temporarily shut down these sites?? - I am sure it would slow things down hugely

I'm in Wolverhampton, apprently their blocking media attention here so they can't spread :nope: I doubt they'd come to my area personally because there isn't shops but there is a big morrisons literally just up the road 2 min walk with a row of a clothes shop, sallys beauty, a motor shop & an off license aswell as a pub & a park.. :(
 
All the firearm reports are quite near too, why do they have to use fire arms :nope:
