All these riots everywhere!!!

1034: Ben Geoghegan Political correspondent, BBC News In response to Boris Johnson's comments on police numbers, the Home Office released the following statement: "The urgent need to take action to address our budget deficit is clear from events across the world right now. The reductions in the police budget for the Spending Review period are manageable. There is no question that the police will still have the resources to do their important work. At the end of this Spending Review period, the police will still have enough officers to deploy in the kind of numbers we've seen in the past couple of days."

HOW the actual feck will they??? They didn't exactly have enough this time so how can they after cuts :dohh:

What
They are actually going to still go through with their cuts to policing, after this?

I've been reading The Daily Mirror this morning and there are a few things which have shocked me, these are the things which stuck out......

"A middle aged man was last night fighting for survival after confronting a mob setting light to wheelie bins in Ealing, West London. He suffered serious head injuries after being kicked and punched repeatedly when he tried to put out the blaze outside a shop. Police source say its a vicious assault on a man who was simply trying to stop mindless destruction. He's on a life support machine and it doesn't look like he'll pull through" :nope:

"Mike Caine told how six young looters used sledgehammers to smash their way into his clothes shop. I went to get an iron bar to defend myself with and one of the gang pulled out a big carving knife and snarled "bring it on".

Someone wrote an article which phrased everything perfectly in my opinion. This is a small part of it "In the end - softened up with their human rights, pampered with a benefits system that was meant to protect the vulnerable - we get this shabby shower".

"In these riots everything that ails us comes together in a perfect storm. Schools where education is despised. Illiterate swaggering thugs who have sucked up benefits like their mother's milk" This guy is right, his article is fab, its too much for me to type but he summed things up perfectly. These thugs have been pampered far too much by this country.

Well I dont know about everywhere else but its just started to rain here! Fingers crossed it rains else where as this may slightly help stop some people going out tonight

rain should hold people off.
im getting quite annoyed with the youth of today thing though.
to be honest, where are their parents, they should be the ones sorting them out. GOD FORBID I even tried anything like this when i was younger, my dad would've killed me.

I would liked to have thought that after this they would have been a bit more reluctant to do that..

They never fail to amaze me!

You proberly find we have a better chance of holding them off due to bad weather and storms though hun, I mean who wants to steal tv's etc in the rain? Its not worth it.. even if it just makes it carmer tonight for shops to be able to better protect themselfs its something

I know SS it's ludicrous that they aren't going to reconsider. There are places that could take cuts and places not to!

hey, i don't like going out in the rain, let alone lugging a big 42" inch tv in it ;)

In The Sun there is an article about a father who is disgusted with his son and wants him to be locked up. He said his son isn't even hard done by, he has nice clothes and an iPhone  he's thoroughly disgusted and says its the only way he will learn.

i think those thugs shouldnt go to prison, might as well send the on holidays. they should be frog marched down the streets that they damaged with signs on them of what they did. also their parents should be made walk with them. maybe throw a few rotten eggs at them too. NAME AND PROPERLY SHAME THEM. then off to boot camp.

thats the more polite version of what i would like to do

Apparently Blackberry are cutting their services tonight, I am not sure how true it is.
