Almost time for a first birthday..........my heart is aching.

I was supposed to have a first birthday in the first week of November and my heart is breaking. To make it harder is that my friend who had her baby 3 weeks before I would've had my baby is having her DD's first birthday on 2nd of November. I should go because my DD was invited, but I really don't feel like I would be able to go through everything without being upset. Would it be wrong of me to decline?

If you're this upset, do not go. You need to take care of yourself. Maybe drop by on another day with a card and gift for your friend's daughter. There is no need to tear yourself apart. Your friend's DD is one and will not remember if you are there or not and your friend should understand. Even if not, she isn't the one missing her angel baby.
