We have decided on the name
Seren Joan
for our daughter due in December but want to jazz up her middle name with an alternative spelling........

I realise this is very difficult to do as the only other alternative I can think of is spelling like the surname Jones which I think is masculine and I don't like!

I also thought maybe Joen would work but from the research I've done that is pronounced Joh-Enn....

Joan was my late grandmothers name so will be using regardless!

Thanks for any suggestions xx

I would pronounce Joen as Joan, my little boy Ollies middle name is Coel (Cole)
I guess you could also do Joane, Jone ...but i thinl its nice spelt as Joan anyway! xxxxx

I think Seren Joan is a lovely name, but I would keep the spelling- it's nice and classic.

HHmmm... can't come up with anything

The only thing i could think of was "Joewn" -- but that looks odd.

Maybe a longer version like -- "Joanelle" or "Joanie" or "Jonette" or "Joanne" or "Joni"

But personally, if you want to use the name Joan -- i would stick with the traditional spelling....

What about a name with similar meaning? Joan means: "God's grace"

Maybe the name Grace could be an option?

Some other names that also mean "God's Grace"

Jessica
Gianna
Hannah

Hi,

I can only think of these:

Joeyne
Joane

The only other thing i can think of is using the Irish form of Joan, which is Siobhán.
