Am I Going To Lose This Baby?

Hey ladies.

So, I had a blood test last night and an ultrasound this afternoon. I am 6w6d past LMP.

Beta HCG levels were 2227 and sac was measuring 4mm.

The tech said that there was no possible way I was almost 7 weeks pregnant and asked if I got my dates wrong. Apparently I look 4-5 weeks or something along those lines. I know my LMP was in fact correct because I write it down every month.

She said two scenarios are possible - I conceived later than I thought or I'm miscarrying and don't know yet. Both clearblue conception indicator tests that I took indicated that I conceived between the 24-28th which would put me around 4-5 weeks.

She wants me to go for another blood test to check hormone levels and just wait for my second scan in 12 days.

What do you think?

I actually had the same thing happen to me. I was 6.6 weeks pregnant back in June and when I went in for my first u/s the baby only measured 4.5 weeks. She thought I was crazy for thinking I was almost 7 weeks! I was like if I was only 4 1/2 weeks then that would be like I just now found out when I found out 3 weeks ago! My hcg levels were good and the doctor seemed to be positive...3 days later on the fourth of July I started spotting and aching so I went to the hospital...within that 3 days the sac became irregular and the next morning I miscarried my baby. Apparently the baby stopped growing at 4 1/2 weeks. I took it so hard, but now I'm pregnant again and hoping for a better outcome. I really hope this isn't the case for you, good luck!

No, I'm not bleeding right now. I was spotting like the tiniest bit. When I say tiny, I mean I had to look for it realllll close.


I guess only time will tell.

Normally they will repeat your HCG blood tests if they suspect you may be miscarrying. If they haven't offered to I would ask them to. There is always a chance though, try not to worry. Anything that early is always really unpredictable and every one is different.

When i was preg last september I went in for an u/s at 5wks 3days and they said the sac was normal for 4 weeks. I knew I wasn't 4 wks, so she thought I just ovulated late. I began to have some spotting at 7 wks and went to the hospital where we saw baby with a low hb and my hcg was low. I ended up m/c the next day. I really hope this is not your case, maybe their calculations were off.

I'm not really too sure what to think. I know that everything happens for a reason but that doesn't really help. I've been depressed these last few weeks and now I wonder if this is all my fault. She really sounded like she knew what she was doing so if she says there is no way that I'm 7 weeks, I'll believe her. In reality, even if it is 7 weeks past LMP, I wouldn't have conceived until around the 18th anyway which would put me at 4 or 5 weeks pregnant anyway. I specifically asked her if there was a possibility I conceived on the 9th and she said oooohhhh no, and we didn't BD until the week of the 15th after that. Soooooo, I dunno. Le sigh.

Hun,id say if u just had ur bloods done,wait 48hrs and go have them done again. Hcg would have doubled. I was also very confused on my dates with my first pregnancy, but it turned out i O'd later than i thought! Sounds good hun, im sure you will be just fine!
