It occured to me today that after two mc s I am almost afraid of getting a BFP, of course I want it really badly, but I´m also scared in case I have to go through all that again. I wonder if that is subliminally stopping me from conceiving
Anyone else out there feel like that?

I dont think it would stop you conceiving, think about all the people who get pregnant and dont even want to. more so I believe that everything happens when its supposed to and our forever babies are not ready yet.
how far along were the MC's and when were they? keeping everything crossed for your bfp :hugs:

Last August was the last one, and october the year before for the first, both times the embryo stopped growing by 6 or 7 weeks but the second was missed so I was just passed 10 weeks when I finally knew it was over and went for a d & c.
I just booked to see a specialist alternative practitioner next week, so i hope that helps.

awww thats very sad :hugs: Ive never been pregnant, never had a bfp. I think thats why I cant imagine it. I also cant imagine waiting for so long and then MCing, it would be devestating. My mum had about 4 or 5 MC's before me so I am living proof that it does happen, when the time is right. Im just impatient and want it NOW!

I felt like that!
I agree with you that the mind is a powerful thing, but I do not think it would stop you conceiving. I think it is just a question of time :hugs:

I think that your stress level would have to super high to interfere with that, but I do know what you mean. This is my first cycle TTC (had a MC in April). I didn't even know I wanted #2 until I got that completely unexpected BFP and then less than a week later it was over. But now TTC is ALL I can think about! I'm so excited, yet so scared that it's going to happen again.

Well, the mind is a powerful thing, but if it worked as birth control, it would have been used for hundreds of thousands of years.
Women aren't always able to feed all of their children, and birth control is a really new invention. If you could stress yourself into not getting pregnant, women would have done it a long time ago.

I hate to hear someone thinking that it's their own fault that they haven't conceived. Honestly, unless you're smoking crack or an alcoholic, it's not your fault. It's out of your control.

Good luck with the specialist appointment.

Oh dear, do you think smoking crack could be what I´m doing wrong, drat!
I didn´t really mean it was my fault, more that I am maybe blocking something, I´m just being a hippy and thinking the mind is everything, but of course you are all right it can´t really be that. Just time I guess.

Maybe if we smoked crack and then gave it up, our chances would improve?:haha:

It's interesting you mention smoking crack and conceiving. I told my husband just the other night that it's not right that a crack smoking junkie can get pregnant and carry the baby to term while so many drug-free women cannot get pregnant. Sadly, it really is out of our control. *sigh*

If your feel like that...change your thinking...when the fear surfaces, try to focus on imagining moments w your LO instead...holding him, feeding him, etc... :hugs: though I do think much of this is out of our hands....Did you watch the video SarahinCanada posted? It's astonishing ANYONE gets pregnant...and it really seems to be somewhat of a miracle....

so true! look at all the steps that have to happen each month to get that bfp. Who knows perhaps some of these things are happening but not to completion, but that one month it will happen to completion. its so annoying, my friend tried 1 whole year after her MC and got pregnant month 12. well why not those other months? its so frustrating. I try to say to myself I WILL get pregnant this year, I just dont know which month. It brings a little hope. I will also feel dissappointed when I see a BFN or my period comes, but with great joy there is often dissappointment first :hugs:

Ive mentioned before what my FS said: we (humans) are actually not very efficient when it comes to conceiving. she said it was quite normal to be my age and havent conceived yet, she would be more concerned something was wrong if I was in my 20's. I really think it just takes TIME.

Good luck with the specialist Natsby .i have to agree the mind is a powerful thing so you should try to stay positive, also finding things that relax you may help to get your mind off thinking about it! :) i dance Argentine Tango (it's my passion) and it does help me to get my mind off "everything" so finding a way to relax (what ever that may be) it may be a good idea :)
