Yes I know quite a few. Most of them are hardworking however they send all their money back to Mexico. A few live off of the government. All of them have stolen the identies of born citizens. I used to work at a credit union and seen the identity they would portray. That's what gets me.

This is true. You need a social security number to get any type of government aide. This is what gets me! People are ignorant about the policies to get different types of help in the USA.

I doubt there will be a doctor shortage. As it is, there aren't enough jobs in the USA. There isn't a doctor shortage in the UK

Oh there is, there are huge shortages of NHS staff full stop, it's usually lack of funds that stop those positions being filled. Think about it, dentists, waiting lists on surgerys, ward running on one nurse, it's a mess, and needs more funding.

If a ward was running on one nurse, it would be closed. Dentists are free to go private as soon as they qualify (which we pay for). The waiting lists on surgery are normally the result of bedblocking. TBH if the NHS wants to save money they should try by cutting out the amount of stupid blooming lectures they expect staff to attend once a month.

My mum is a paediatric A&E nurse and she has worked shifts in which she was the only nurse on staff on more than one occasion. Her hospital is massively understaffed. I completely agree with socialised healthcare and think that the NHS really is something to be proud of but there are definitely massive flaws in the system.

I have never in my entire working life in NHS, worked in a dept where the only staff member was 1 nurse. If it does happen it is totally unacceptable and against NHS working practices. They are more in need of getting rid of the "managers" who earn far too much money for the crap job they do and training more staff and more importantly keeping the staff they have !.

I have, when I was training it would often be me and a qualified. I know it's against the rules, most or them time it's nights, but even days it happens. When we qualified there was no money for a lot of my friends, they went to work in Tesco and other places until they could find jobs!

It's not always about bed blocking, medical then yes I agree, major problems there, but surgical it's more not enough staff for theatres, there are empty theatres, but each surgeon gets given a few hours time slot here and there, and once emergencies comes in that's it, forget it. I have had a few surgeries recently, and being bumped from day to day for exactly that reason.

Dentists, there are not enough, not enough training, as for them being able go go private straight away, so can every other NHS profession.

The estimated 11 million is illegal immigrant's and some of them may be using other people's ID to claim off the goverment is what I think CalliesMOM meant.

The understaffing IS a real issue in the NHS but it never used to be this way, so there is no why Obamacare has to be the same, surely we can learn from other countries mistakes.

Sorry, I've just worked with so many different people and often they are just trying to survive and help their children get better education and jobs. They see the USA as a land of opportunity. You should hear the way some immigrants talk about the USA: with PRIDE!

I think there should be programs to help them get green cards at cheaper prices. Last time I checked, it's over $500 for a green card

As for jobs, hell, they do the jobs Americans won't do!

Callesmom, I think what you've lost sight of is that no where in the world except for unfriendly places like Pakistan, Afganistan, Syria again do people need to travel with identification papers. Oh and let's not forget about Nazi Germany. It IS NOT ok in today's world to support biggitory. In Canada, the UK and other common wealth countries we embrace our differences. By allowing police, at random, to harass people who 'look' ethnic, the racist governor has taken that State back to the dark ages. It's SHAMEFUL to support racism, however it takes shape. Obama has dealt with border issues in a more professional manner, by requiring passports to be required before entry and beefing up patrols. There are many ways to skin a cat, racism + other dumb Republican tactics just don't cut the mustard!

Just because there are rotten Republican governors still violating the American constitution, doesn't mean it needs to be supported. Impeached? No, most people without racist tendancies would give the guy a medal.

If the person whos ID is being stolen is working, would it not be flagged up that they are working AND "claiming benefits" (which is what the illegal immigrant would be doing right?).

Does that make sense? Don't think I've worded it very well, but it's a genuine question.

Oh I know, I was just asking in general for anyone to answer Would be interested to know how all of these illegal immigrants can steal other peoples identities and not get caught when claiming benefits in their name!

Hmmm, well I know my sister who died as a baby identity was stolen. We only found out when we got a letter to my parents address with her name on demanding the tax she should of paid.

In Canada we don't deal with identity theft using Nazi tactics, why would it be ok to do this anywhere else? I'm travelling through Turkey on a bus right now, would be terribly offended if police came up to me demanding my passport at will in the name of stopping identity theft.

The thing is if they are illegal immigrants and have a child on US soil that child is an American Citizen. It is not always guaranteed they can stay but most times they do. I have never seen an illegal immigrant getting aid most I know work their asses off cause they just want a better life for their kids and themselves . Most of them just work, make a living, live their life, don't bother anyone else. I am not saying it is right to be here illegally but I wont judge because god knows what their lives were like in their own country. I am sure there are some out there who are getting aid when they shouldn't be but AGAIN it is a small percentage, so to say illegal immigration over all is a big problem, I just don't see it that way, cause most do nothing wrong and the last thing they want is to bring attention to themselves. It is not a big problem stealing others identity cause it happens yes but not so much , it takes one or two cases for people who feel strongly about immigration to act upon the few cases and go over the top trying to prove their point. I just don't have a problem with it people coming to my land to make a better life. JMO though

Totally agree 2have4kids, I hope it didnt come across as otherwise I was just saying one of the ways people can steal idenities. I hate the idea of stopping some just because they look like whatever. We had a problem here (not sure if it is still ongoing) with the police stop and search, some people felt victimised because of the skin tone/colour. No one should ever have to live their life feeling they are being judged based on that by the anyone but especially not the AUTHORITIES

Andy, agree with you. I cant imagine life in a war torn country. My Mum's friend was an asslyum seeker (polictical assylum due to her Dad being a politician under threat), their whole family got accepted as there were public threats to their life there, she went to college and university, she trained as a nurse and worked her butt off. She got a mortgage etc and then one day they tried to send her back. I dont understand how that works but to me that is awful.
