Uk isn't a socialist country though?

Oh and I really hope Obama wins. Mitt Romney seems like a fucking nutcase, I really don't understand the appeal to anyone who isn't very wealthy in voting for him, especially if you're a woman.

I don't have a lick of money, I am a woman and I will never vote for Obama.
I also have no interest in redistributing the wealth.

Another thing, we make nearly nothing after tax, $440 a month in insurance which comes right off the top. It is only getting higher and we can not choose to go without insurance. We do not qualify for a damn dime from aid, since they go off gross income.
I already have my passport ready for just in case we get screwed by Obama again.

The Salt Lake Tribune, the largest circulating paper in Utah, announced today that they are backing Obama for reelection because they have seen "too many Mitts".

I knew there was a reason not to subscribe to them ;) LOL jk. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if they want to support Obama than by all means.

Where are you gonna move? The uk?

But we're all socialists :haha:

Woot woot, so glad to hear. Thanks for the Huffpost article, mirrors all the things I believe is wrong with Mitt.
Romney AND his #1 absolutely HAVE said they would mess with women's rights to abortions and no, the facts/opinions that the Republican posters have not been backed up which is the MAIN problem with the party politics as they stand (policies and followers not historical fact checking). Please post your proof that they would uphold women's rights. Women's rights took years to win and they can be snapped away with a simple vote for an extremist party.

It is the role of police to uphold the laws, the president has no power to enact these laws himself. It's the presidents job to administer foreign policy, to advise/command the military, to put on a reassuring face in time of crisis for the people and there are legislative duties too: https://usgovinfo.about.com/od/thepresidentandcabinet/a/aboutpotus.htm

The idea that it's ok for the president to bring his religious beliefs into politics itself, is against the constitution. If your company gets taken over by a Muslim person I expect, with this logic, that you'd be happy to quit if they said you need to wear a long skirt and scarf to work everyday? Allowing religious gurus to impede on our freedoms is NOT a good answer to any problem (we go back to wanting to life like an Afganistan/Pakistan woman here).

Ok, so you married at 21 and didn't have sex before that, can you not show compassion for people who are different than you? This is a really important skill that's required to make friends never mind understand how removing women's access to birth control would effect your country.:dohh:

Canada is closest. At least she'll have healthcare! I might hate the lack of logic but I do want to see my fellow ladies taken care of & feeling safe. But in Canada we're very polite & quiet well behaved people, have to put your friendly hat on when entering our domaine. Obama's simply modelling universal healthcare after the common wealth countries, maybe it'd be good to see up front how crime, poverty and desperation diminishes when there's a basic level of compassion, life & decency.

If that smells like rotten tomatoes, I hear Afghanistan is loosing women in droves, since the Republican ideals match well it might be appealing?:winkwink::shrug:

Have you ever thought of going into politics ?. I'd certainly vote for you

His VP Ryan called rape a "method of conception" and co-sponsored a bill to redefine rape with Todd Akin, the man who wants to have women investigated by police for having miscarriages. Richard Mourdock is his pick for State Senate who he is endorsing says getting pregnant by a rape is something "God intended". His pick for his "partner" in Washington, Rep. Steve King, said he's never heard of anyone getting pregnant from statutory rape or incest. Lets not forget that Todd Akin also said that a woman's body will shut down and prevent pregnancy after she is raped.

Please tell me what that would make you believe Romney is going to sway towards, since those are the people he is backing. Ryan made it very clear his stance on the subjects when the VP debate went on.

I just don't get how a woman could vote for Romney with what they plan on doing. :nope:

OMG I never said that all young people are lazy I said SOME and it's not just young that abuse the system. There are young and old. I never said all illegal immigrants abuse the system but yes if they are working they have stolen someones social security number to work. Yes I know about this because where I live, miller co one of the biggest companies to get busted for hiring illegal immigrants is here. We need to find a way to audit and make it so people can't abuse the system.

The presidents job is to uphold the laws of the land and constitution.

We shouldn't force companies to pay for birth control if it's against their religious beliefs (that is against the constitution). And to answer the really rude remark about what age I would've been knocked up...It would've been 21 when I got married thank you very much. Not everyone has sex before marriage. Romeny supports the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Act. I don't agree with the couple of Republican comments about rape. Rape is rape and if you get pregnant because of it then you should be able to terminate. Romney hasn't said anything like taking away womens rights.

As far as foreign policy Romney has stated over and over that his foreign policy is very simple: keep strong ties with our allies, don't waiver when it comes to "bad guys" like Iran, and don't let countries like China play games with our economy by doing things like devaluing their currency. Pretty straight forward.

Agree with everything said here. Seperation of church and state works BOTH ways. It's unconstitutional plain and simple. Also, as CalliesMom pointed out not everybody has sex before marriage. I've only been with my husband, no need for birthcontrol before then. Romney isn' t trying to interfere with people's access to birth control, he's upholding the constitution by not forcing people to go against their religious beliefs. When I was looking for jobs, I made sure find a good company that I fit well with. That means you "jive" with their company values, goals, etc etc. How is the coverage of birth control issue any different?! I would just say, " I suppose I'm not a good fit here" and move on to a company that gave me access to the things I wanted! ( This is absolutely not any different than finding a company that provides the "other" benefits you want ie paid vacation, type of insurance coverage etc etc).

I think Romney will SUPPORT women by getting the economy running. I agreed with everything he said in the debate about supporting working moms.

I don't think Obama is doing a good job. My opinion. Obviously others have other opinions. It's clear that we're economically worse off than we were in 08. Gas prices are through the roof, unemployment is higher, more people on welfare etc etc. Those are facts that nobody can spin. How is it stupid to want to give another candidate a shot to do a better job?! Even if Obama was thrown into a "hole" so to speak from previous policies, doesn't it make sense that he would want to start putting dirt in to raise us/him out of it instead of digging it deeper.

Sure, he seems like a nice guy. But he's inexperienced and I don't like his policies. Not to mention it makes me CRINGE that they're using the Osama Bin Laden thing as a campaign strategy. I'm pretty sure Obama wasn't there raiding that compound that night. So disrespectful to the SEALS that were doing all the work. Also, the fact that the Obama administration has come out and openly said they "messed up" with the attack in Libya is disconcerting. Ok, sure she said the "buck stopped with her". But this is our SECRETARY OF STATE and the people that the president is entrusting with our national security.

 :hugs: I have a keen sense of humour and a quick tongued OH. It helps keep the smiles & laughter going during all this silliness. And you can't take me too seriously, I just don't want to see those ladies vote their rights away. I have Scottish family down there who are old and need healthcare. Mind you their fabulously rich but it doesn't negate the point that voting for religious extremists is never a good thing to do. Thank you for your kind words :flower:

Nothing like inexperience eh ?.

A LOT cheaper than every where else in the world. I'll reply better when I'm on the computer and not my phone.

Just have to add that gas prices aren't Obama's fault.
