Oops I was just going by a few Canadian friends ranting about him, my bad! I know Canada is an extremely liberal country compared to the majority of the world but I always pick up on some weird tension between people who were born in Canada and recent Asian immigrants. I have definitely heard some really inappropriate and insulting terms used over there. But obviously you get that in every country.

Might be area. Big cities by the border seem to have more racism. (This is going by living all over ontario) this far up north it's really uncommon and everyone and their mother would tell you off for it. Like, it's one of those jokes you whisper to your best friend because they know you don't mean it offensively. My friend got kicked out of a store for using the "n word". Haha. Lara is mixed race too :). So that was such a weird thing to hear haha. But when I lived in Guelph it was less frowned upon.

What have you heard? I believe there is racism in Canada, mostly behind closed doors and its usually resentment towards immigrants I find. People worry that we're losing our cultural values and stuff. What makes you say Asian in particular?

The Netherlands is also considered one of the most liberal countries in terms of things like homosexuality/drugs/prostitution, but I saw a show recently on how they want to stop Muslim immigration and how openly racist one of their leaders are.

I live in Vancouver where depending on which part of the city you're in - if you're white, you're a minority. We are very very heavily populated by immigrants. So TBH if there is racism, it's almost as likely to be against born and bred Canadians as it is the other way around.

I think a lot of people take issue with immigrants that don't even attempt to adjust to certain customs over here (and I struggle with this sometimes too) but I wouldn't say that's racism. More just frustration that some people don't seem to be terribly interested in waiting in line with the rest of us (this is SO common), etc.

I've got nothing against immigrants or different nationalities, BUT if I were moving to an entirely different country I would make my best efforts to learn the customs and go along with them. And I don't think it's really OTT to expect the same from people moving here.

Sorry, bit of a rant...just wondering if that's what you're meaning by "racism" or intolerance, maybe.

I hope Obama wins...I havent read the whole thread but alot of Romney supporters are saying that Obama is the anti-christ and Obamacare is the mark of the beast as said in the bible.

Let me just add that I'm 21 and I qualify for free rent, free daycare, and free phone service but I dont apply for any of that assistance. Yes I have food stamps, I get $280 a month for a family of 4 and I also get WIC but that is because Jovanni has to drink pediasure for his weight and that would cost me approx. $280 a month out of pocket. I pay my own rent which is $800, pay my own bills and go to school. Now if Romney wins...how will I be able to pay for everything with the check only coming up to $700 bi-weekly? That would be $1,400 a month...and if you add 800 for rent, 280 for food, 280 for Jovanni's milk that equals $1360 and I still need to pay for gas, phone, internet (classes online), daycare...there is just no way, plus my financial aid would be cut big time. I'm not lazy and the last thing I wanted was to be on welfare (not that there is anything bad with it). I did not plan to have two kids at such a young age but it happens. I only get the help that I need and with my food stamps I dont buy junk food, if I want junk food I pay it out of pocket.

BTW This is not a rant...I'm just posting my reasons for voting for Obama....I have lots of friends who like Romney and I have no problem with that.

How is "Obamacare" the mark of the beast?

* I googled it, I think one of the ladies here is more familiar with the facts of Obamacare than I am. This is the first I've heard of it, though.

** I can't really find any credible sources claiming that it's true, but I did find one (not sure it's a 'credible' source), but claims it isn't true.

Supposely because of the chip https://forums.hannity.com/showthre...(This-new-law-requires-an-RFID-chip-implanted) sorry cant find a better link. I dont believe it, but alot of my friends do.

Now you have me freaking out and can't stop googling. :haha:

It's being going around facebook lately.

Everything I've read says its a hoax and that it was brought up but taken out and not passed, or something like that. Never found any credible sources.

Apparently it was in bill H.R 3200, but never mentioned an RFID chip. It was to track things like pace makers, hip replacements, medical things to see how well they're working. It never even mentioned chipping people or making it mandatory that people be chipped.

Bill H.R 3200 was never even passed. The Bill that was passed was Bill H.R 3590. It mentions nothing of being chipped, RFID chips or anything.

..at least that's what I can gather from some of the sources I found. Not sure any of them for either side are "credible". You can look up the Bills that passed, though.

That's what I keep telling some of my friends, but they dont believe me (most of them are romney supporters) :dohh:

I'm a worrier about things like this anyway :haha:

I don't know how they could make everyone get a chip anyway, it would be against the constitution.

I think Romney will win, he has the lead right now

No he's not: https://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/romney-vs-obama-electoral-map
That's because half the states haven't even voted yet. Voting is on the 7th where I live. And it looks to me that there are alot more Romney supporters then Obama so we'll see

I know. I'm from California, lol. California will go Obama.

I was told that Republican votes are to be registered on the 8th.

The numbers are from the primary elections and telephone surveys.
