Anomaly scan small cerebellum question

Hi,
We had our anomaly scan at 23+2 (late, but NHS couldn't get us in sooner) and whilst everything else was normal and higher than 50th percentile, the babys cerebellum measured 20mm. Sonographer said everything was normal, and I didn't know what any measurement should be, but when I got home I googled and found that the cerebellum (part of brain) generally follows which week you are on, and I found a chart which had the measurements 20.2mm at 20 weeks 20.9mm at 21 weeks and 23.9mm at 23 weeks.
I'm really getting freaked out now that their is something wrong and the sonographer didn't pick it up because they're used to anomaly scans being earlier or something. Or maybe they measured wrong.
Does anyone here have any idea if it's ok if the cerebellum measures 3 weeks behind?

no idea mine was too big for the dates sorry x x x if the sonographer thinks its fine I agree as no one said anything about ours being 2 weeks ahead and tiny legs

i have just come back from my 20week scan im 20wks 3 days and was told it was smaller than it should be and have to go back in 2 weeks and im pretty worried as never heard anything like this before xx

There's a wide range of normal. My head is very small and my youngest boy (3.5) has a small head and always has. The ultrasound tech brought it up in his scan, and only relaxed when I told her my head was small, too. DH has a melon, and so does my oldest, LOL. Funny thing is my youngest is already reading and writing, so there is no developmental problem for sure. If the tech wasn't worried, try not to yourself. I'm sure all is well.

I really wouldn't worry too much - I know the measurements aren't really reliable at all. We had our scan at 20+1 and head circumference was 168mm. We had it repeated the next day and were told it was 180mm! As long as there measurements aren't widely different from what they should be they don't seem too fussed in my experience. Try not to worry. If there really was an issue they'd rescan :)

Thankyou for your reassurance Zou and knitbit. My GP said that if the sonographer didn't say anything that I shouldn't worry. The measurement did seem to be 3 weeks out, although head circumference and BPD was within normal range.
Good luck greyhorse - please keep us updated.

hope all goes well for u, i think i made a mistake as to what part is small as been told there are few diff bits to measure and midwife says i shoudnt worrie.. baby wouldnt keep still so i have to go back on 20th to finish the scan so they said they will have another look again, still worrieing tho xx

Mine came out funny too mine at an almsot 23 week scan was 21.2 but since the scan was because of my lupus I spoke with a perinatologist right after and he said because my baby is sitting breech and his head is not oval shaped right now because of this it throws off the measurements slightly and is nothing to worry about .

Don't know if its the same for you but if the sonography isn't worried I wouldn't be either

My new thing is, DON'T google. It causes way to much worry, and if neither the doctor or sonographer are concerned then I shouldn't be either :) I've made myself crazy looking over my scans and then looking up what is 'normal'.
Try not to worry, I'm sure everything is fine :)

Too late for the googling ! My only next thing is to call the doc monday morning since I am literally loosing sleep over it.
I double asked her when i left if everything was good, she said yes, it's so nerve wrecking !
I also popped in an image editor the measurement from a few weeks ago and last week. I personally think a few weeks ago she measured very large and last week, a little tight which doesn't help but even if i remeasure, adjust the scale it shows I was at about 50% (instead of her scan who showed over 90%) at 18w2d and at around 12% at 24w4d (instead of <2.4% or so)... Feels like a big drop anyway.

It would be really nice to see what ended up being for Wolfie !
