Anxious about 0 sperm count as BF already has a daughter! Advice pls?!!

Hi all,

I'm new to this and in desperate need of advice. I'm 35 in October and have been trying to conceive for a year with my first child. My BF is 43 and time isn't on my side. He already has a 9yr old daughter from previous relationship and I too fell pregnant 3yrs ago with him but unfortunately lost it. As we be had no luck we ve both had tests and whilst mine were normal his semen count was 0! They re running another test in 2 weeks but I'm so anxious and confused especially as he's fathered a child! Is anyone else going through this or can offer advice as to why and what can be done?! Really need help here. X

I am sorry your dealing with this ,
sometimes it can be testicle failure , sometimes the testicles can shut down do to steroid/testosterone use and sometimes there can be a blockage , I recommend having him go see a urologist to figure out whats keeping his body from producing sperm.

I 2nd this---my DH is in the same boat. We've already had two healthy children, but since we weren't conceiving and I haven't been on a single bit of BC's since 2007---we got tested to see what was up, and that was what came back from his tests. He is currently waiting to set up the appt with the urologist, since in my area, DH had to have a referral from his PCP first.

Hi ladies,

Thankyou so much for your advice. His appointment is next Thursday for his 2nd test and then we ll see his gp from there. I am also seeing gp Thursday as apparently my prolactin levels are high. I we'll definitely push to see uolrologist. As I said because of my age and as this would be my first child I am desperate! Please keep me posted on ur journey x

I hope the 2nd SA is better. if not the urologist should help you figure out whats going on.
