Hello girls,
So studies have shown that if you eat breakfast cereal everyday it increases your chances for having a boy. Have any ladies out there ate breakfast cereal and still conceived a girl?

Thanks again~ :flow:

I eat cereal all the time.Atleast once a day (breakfast and sometimes snack too) and I've got a girl and a boy ;)

Haha!!! Never heard that one!! I've ate cereal and got one of each and expecting a boy!!

omg what ever next :haha: i never ever eat cereal and i got two boys lolm so throws that study out the window

Seriously? The sex of the baby is determined by the chromosomes in your husband's sperm. And what is considered 'cereal'? Fruit loops? Muesli? Chocos?

Never heard of this one but I eat cereal everyday, sometimes two bowls of it and I'm having a girl :) x

It's exactly the type of shit the Daily Fail would publish isnt it!?

lol what a funny "study"

i eat cereal most days but not all and have 2 boys and expecting a girl :S

I agree with ummar! the man determines the sex of the baby its got nothing to do with us women im afraid! x

Nope - there's science behind this one! Sorry naysayers. There's actually more than one peer-reviewed study behind this.

HOWEVER, the percentage of boys vs. girls goes up, but does NOT mean that you WILL produce a boy. It just increases your chances from about 45% to about 56%. So still, roughly half. So, PLENTY of women will still conceive a girl eating cereal every day. Another study found bananas help too.

If I know the role of diet on procreation, and I like to think I do ( ;) ), my own view of it is that boys are somewhat less "sticky" than girls, and a proper diet will help them stick.

I have always ate cereal everyday and still do so. I don't know what im having yet until Tuesday when hopefully I'll find out but for some reason im convinced its a boy. Its just this strong feeling I have. It will be interesting to see if it is a boy :)

LOL. Seriously, whatever you do won't help it turn into a boy or a girl. As soon as you get pregerant the baby's gender is already decided from the sperm, as it'll be either a X or Y.
What a load of rubbish!

Quite right - the science the OP refers to is eating cereal at the time of conception. Please don't knock the science until you've read the study. At which point, knock away!

Now this I've heard before - "...She points to two other studies, both published in 2008, that support the hypothesis that the maternal environment around conception may favor the survival of "girl" sperm (with X chromosome) or "boy" sperm (Y chromosome)."

The acidity of your vagina (which is affected by diet), and the closeness between having sex and releasing a fresh egg from your ovaries can affect which type of sperm triumphs... apparently male sperm are a little bit weaker and so you need to time BD as closely as possible to ovulation.

Thank you.

I am not saying that cereal will turn your female fetus into a male. What I am saying is that there have been numerous studies out there that have found a link between a mother that eats breakfast cereal, increases the chance of having a boy. The environment of the women's vagina greatly increases and/or decreases the chance of XX or XY sperm catching the egg. If the vagina is acidic it favors the XX, if you are more alkaline (hence balanced diet, lots of vitamin and minerals) than you are more XY friendly.

Like a PP had stated, male sperm are more fragile to their environment and require a certain PH to sustain life.

Thank you everyone for your two cents.
