Anybody eat cereal everyday and concieve a girl?

I have always ate cereal everyday and still do so. I don't know what im having yet until Tuesday when hopefully I'll find out but for some reason im convinced its a boy. Its just this strong feeling I have. It will be interesting to see if it is a boy :)

Best of luck to you!
I can't wait to hear what you are having~ :winkwink:

;) Knew exactly what you meant. You're obviously a girl who pays attention to the news.

I ate cereal bars and bananas everyday - not for that purpose, but because I'm lazy. But I'm team yellow. We'll see!

How exciting!

I promised my DH that we would wait until delivery day to find out too. It is going to kill me. lol! :dohh:

LOL. Seriously, whatever you do won't help it turn into a boy or a girl. As soon as you get pregerant the baby's gender is already decided from the sperm, as it'll be either a X or Y.
What a load of rubbish!

Quite right - the science the OP refers to is eating cereal at the time of conception. Please don't knock the science until you've read the study. At which point, knock away!

Yes but I'm saying even if the OP eats cereal piror to conception, they won't change anything to make it a boy or girl. It would be down to the MAN, the woman only carries female eggs. The sperm is what makes a female or male and besides it's ALWAYS going to be a 50/50 chance. Whatever you do.
Studies like this just give people false hope.
Not trying to be mean or anything! :) x

Didn't think you were being mean!

The study also doesn't create false hope for anyone who's read it - like I said, your chances go up marginally from a diet rich in cereal grains.

Anyway, this peer-reviewed research suggests that while it mostly comes down to the man, the woman's body (not the egg) may have some say as well. Which is fascinating! Their methods of course are up for debate (which is why I included the first link in my first post).

never heard this before but i always eat cereal and i'm having a girl x

We had our 19 week scan yesterday and I wasn't tempted. But now that the chance is over...I must admit I'm curious! But I do love a surprise. My instinct (which is often wrong) is leaning towards boy for no good reason. You?

I hardly ever ate cereal before pregnancy (now I eat it all the time!) and I'm having a boy. Didn't really eat bananas or anything either.

I did see the news on that study though and there did seem to be some correlation.

Never heard of this one... but I eat cereal once a day every day and sometimes a bit extra as a snack and first time around had a boy. Don't know about this one yet.

I don't believe in it necessarily but have heard that girl & boy sperm survive better in different maternal environments enroute to the egg - one prefers acidic and the other alkaline so, by eating foods that can encourage an acidic or alcaline environment, you could create a higher chance of one sex over the other. So I imagine the theory would come from this.

Additionally boy sperm swim faster and girl sperm lives longer so there are also theories that you can increase your chances of having one sex over the other by timing :sex: right - studies have shown only a sway of 1% at the most for conception resulting in the preferred sex - I don't imagine that eating the right foods would sway the chances too much either.

To answer your question though - I do eat cereal every day and am having a little blue bundle of joy :)

Studies have also shown that the egg also plays a part in the sex,not just the sperm, and apparently eating a lot of bananas makes you conceive a boy. (load of bull!!)

Actually the potassium in bananas increases your PH to make you more alkaline, which in turn make the XY sperm thrive in the woman's vagina. Favoring the conception of a boy.

Well, I have been right with all three of my kiddos. I have a feeling this may be a girl, but keep preparing myself for baby boy number 3.

Holy! You've had 3 already - would never have guessed by your pic!

Aww....my husband was boy number 3. By boy number 4 his mom gave up on the girl. BUT my hubby's his mom's favourite anyway. Good luck either way!

40 years ago my mother lived on cornflakes.

My brother is gay.

I'd probably be dead long ago if it wasn't for Cheerios - they were my staple diet in the days when my hyperemesis was raging - and Zigzag is a girl

Not sure if it's okay to laugh....

He's not really, I just couldn't resist it.

I wish he was, I would have so much more in common with him....

In answer to the original question, my sister and i eat soooo much cereal. When we lived at home my parents used to buy at least a box a day for us - she has 2 girls, i have 1 and i'm totally convinced this is a pink one too (won't find out till weds tho!). Interesting to see what scientists spend their time doing tho!xx
