ive got an interview as a casual sales assistant - what is this????

if read it means ill be contracted to 0 hours a week is this true because if it is its a no go for me!! any info would be really appreciated

also is it really such a bad place to work at??

casual work means that its not regular

its more than likely to cover holiday over the summertime or sickness etc

it just means when they have no one available to cover out of there permenant staff, they call you

My cousin worked there and hated it, the managers were horrible and the pay was rubbish! And yes, 0 hour contract means it is as and when they need you, x

I worked there years ago and lasted 3 months... It was awful.. Pay was hideous and there was no 'real' training.. nd yes, prepare for all manor of hours...

I worked there for 2 years.

Basically they put no hours in your contract but you could possibly work full time hours, depends on business. They normally put you in to work 4-5 hour shifts so they don't have to give you a break. Shifts can be pretty early too especially if they have delivery shifts and late if they have stock take.

They're not a good company but they're not the worst iyswim.
