Anyone doing an IUI in October?

Hey guys, I think we totally f'd up this cycle. We BD on Sunday at around noon then I took the trigger at 10pm... I wonder if that is why we had the lower sperm count. The thing was, in DH's s/a he had a really high count so I thought we could get away with it.
Also, my clinic was a nightmare - DH showed up to do the sample and they don't have a special room or anything, it is just the bathroom next to reception so he could hear everyone talking etc. He said he could barely perform.

He is really upset about it and wants to change to a more professional clinic so am going to try and get a new referral from my doctor.

Noel, it's possible that might have been why. There are just so many factors. Maybe next time try to BD two days before IUI, that's what we did. DH had two 12 mil cycles, and then, miraculously a 40mil. As far as the clinic- that doesn't sound right. How far away from the clinic are you guys? They send home a specimen cup with us, and he gets the sample at home and we have to drop it off at a specific time in the morning. As long as we get it to them in under an hour, it's okay. I would definitely look elsewhere... that doesn't seem very professional.

So I had my Ultra sound and bloodwork today and I have 4 follies. My DR wants me to wait until tomorrow to do my trigger since 2 are 14 1 is 16 and 1 is 18 so they will be at 20. So I am looking at an IUI date of Saturday! I am so excited! Fingers crossed that it goes well! 4 is good right? My last IUI they didn't tell me how many I had....

I see alot of you are almost the same as me! I go in Tommorrow for an U/S to check to see how my Follies are doing, and if all is good I will be doing My first IUI On Friday. Its nice to see that I will be in my TWW with alot of you ladies. I am soooooooo Nerves!!!!!!!!!!

Hi this is my first time here as well as my first time with iui on the 21st if this month.I am fine its my husband with low count.our fertility doctor says has to have 2 mil post wash to do iui.im nervous cause we have been trying for 4 yrs and working with doctor for year now and finally beginning the process.im wondering if anyone had sucess with iui first time with low counts.thank u and hope all of us have bfp soon.

I have been on here for awhile now just always reading what everyone is going through and it has helped me get through infertility.

I am currently on CD 12 after days 5-9 on femara. This is our second go around as we did go see an RE in 2010 who put us on clomid with timed BD and no luck for two months (stopped due to stress and husbands back injury).

We will be doing our first IUI within the next few days. I thought I had a surge with the OV kits from amazon this morning...but they are so hard to read. I just bought the walgreens brand (7 tests) to use this evening and tomorrow morning.

I see that some of you are on the same time frame. I am pretty nervous about all this as we get this shot and IVF is not something we will be able to afford. I need some good stories...anything will help.

I wish I could offer a good story as far as success...but my first cycle of IUI was not successful - however, with that said, I did have a very positive experience with the process...I learned a lot and am so much more informed this go around. I guess I prepared myself because I did not find many 1st IUI success stories - so we're crossing our fingers that #2 is our lucky number

CD11 (10/10) 2 follicles (L) 18mm & (R) 14mm - thin lining (5.4)
CD12 (today) L - 19mm & R - 17.5mm - thin lining (5.6)...
I'm taking estrace (or however you spell it) It's that little blue pill they make you insert vaginally - my RE & staff call it the "Smurfette" pill lol.
They took my blood today and I wasn't surging so tomorrow I go back in for bloodwork and another ultrasound so another update. It is projected that IUI will take place Sunday, but if I surge on my own tomorrow it'll take place Saturday...

Great size follicles, though your lining is still thin. Keeping my fingers crossed that you don't surge yet, that way your lining will be perfect, too

Unfortunately, no success story from me yet! We have unexplained, but I have heard that IUI definitely helps with male factor infertility. Hoping this will be it for you! For us, IVF will not be an option either, unless we save over several years. Hoping third time is the charm! (This time we did Gonal F injections, and my lining was fantastic! Only one follicle, though)

Just got back from my CD13 appt and here are my numbers...
Follicle sizes: (L) 20.1 and (R) 18.5
Lining: 8.6

Everything looks great apparently, now just waiting for the results of the blood to see if I surged on my own and if so IUI tomorrow...if not, trigger tonight and IUI Sunday...
I am so excited...I really have a good feeling about this one ladies; and if not this one I KNOW it's going to work next time (which I don't remember if I mentioned, but I did talk to my RE about my side effects [i.e. headaches, thin lining, and sickness] and he is going to switch to a different medication next cycle if this one doesn't work).

I am on day 1 today - and I will go on Monday for my blood work and Ultrasound where they will put me on Letrozole. we have been TTC for 1yr 4mnths and 2 failed IUI.
I take Prenatal and Geritol.

So I have officially entered the 2ww!
IUI went well today... DH had 146 million so we're crossing our fingers that this is the cycle that's going to give us our BFP! Our test is scheduled for 10/30..but AF is due the Friday before - no later than the Sunday before that (so 10/26-10/28 is when I should be getting it if this cycle was unsuccessful)...

I'm so sorry I haven't updated. I'm afraid my cycle is going to be canceled. I had my LH and FSH drawn on Friday and they want to see my tomorrow for my cd11 u/s and bloodwork, but I have the feeling my LH was too high. I took an OPK to see how dark it was (almost +) and had fertile fluid, so I can imagine it was over 10. I am hoping so hard they won't cancel me.

I did awesome on the Clomid. I had a bit of minor dizziness while on them, but that was it. I'm having some cramping and bloating today and yesterday. Cross your fingers we can proceed tomorrow. I'll be heartbroken if they cancel us after everything we have been through.

vitabelle- I'm crossing my fingers that your 2ww goes by fast! I have never heard of a count that high. Did your lining get thicker? I think my clinic will cancel if it's under 10.

Hi all! i had my iui yesterday. I think it went really well DH gave 74 million with 54% motility with an overall grade a. My dr said I had a ton of fertil cm and that was a really good sign. Hoping that with my 4 follicles and his 74 million we will get our bfp this month! Here's to the longest 2 weeks!

I had my 3rd iui yesterday 11am.

First was clomid 3-7 100mg and natural surge-negative
Second was clomid 3-7 100mg ovidrel trigger-negative
Third (yesterday) was letrozole 3-7 ovidrel-hopefull!!

I stopped clomid because I was having a lot of tracers in my vision. Letrozole gave me bad headaches that lasted from the second day I took them until the 2nd day after my last dose.

I went for my cd11 check and the nurse told me my LH was way too high on Friday...17!! (Had to stay under 10) She told me that my cycle was likely canceled and I would have to be put on injections or IVF after having a formal meeting with the head RE.

I went back to the waiting room with DH and got teary-eyed while waiting for my follicle check. The RE there, I had never met her before, told me I had not ovulated even through the LH was so high and I had 3, 13mm follicles. They want me to come back in 2 days and said they would see what my bloodwork from today says before they discuss my case with the head guy.

So, they really didn't do a great job at explaining what's going on. I think it's still on? Maybe? I have no idea.

we have been trying on our own since then monthly with no success, but I went today for day 3 -blood work and ultrasound. I will start to take the Letrozole.
