Anyone doing an IUI in October?

I'm here, just stuck in 2ww hell. I don't feel hopeful for this month so am already banking on next cycle.

Here is my story: been trying to conceive #2 for 16 long months without the slightest chance of a BfP. Long story short, after 2 different FS opinions we decided to see an RE who thought we had a great chance with IUI as our numbers are both great, did a post coital test (that was this saturday just passed)which showed my cervix isn't exactly rolling out the red carpet for hubby's swimmers.
RE did and ultra sound and I had one dominant follie at 19mm, the 3 layers, my lining was at 11 and tons of fertile CM. RE said all these signs indicate that ov was imminent and we should get an insemination in. This was cd 8. I usually get my smiley cd 9, but now cd 10, still nothing (of course my body won't comply when it is supposed to). The first IUI was a waste and now I am just waiting for the smiley and going to go in and have another one. How wired is it that I was medically ready to ov, but nothing. Has this happened to anyone else?

That's exactly what happened to me. My RE even asked if maybe I was under a lot of stress b/c it was pretty rare to have that happen.

It's round three for us starting weds. Lets see what happens!!

So, all these new terms are new too me. I thought I may have surged on Friday the 12th in the evening but it was hard to tell.
Next morning was the same color so I called the RE and they said to come in Sunday (yesterday) at 8am.

One mature follicle on the right side at 26mm and husband at 101 million after wash with 97% motility but just .5 shy of reg volume.

I am nervous after reading about all your lining I was only at 3.6 and the RE said that was good?! I was also given a trigger shot to ensure ovulation. Luckily we BD Saturday early morn, last night, and will again tonight.

I am not too hopeful this will work just testing the waters I guess. I can test at home on October 28th! 2ww here we go

Hi Caz! I am doing well thank you! I have had bronchitis so I have been laying low. I cannot wait for my bloodwork next saturday! Really anxious. No symptoms yet but I know its too early!

Still no smiley, so either I am going to have one gigantic follicle at about 30mm or I am not going to ovulate this cycle. This being said, I understand that cd 10 is really early for ovulation and most women dont get their smiley till day 12. Spoke with my RE this am, if I get a smiley this afternoon or tomorrow morning he said I should go for an IUI tomorrow afternoon, but he is going away till Monday, so if nothing happens in the next 18 hours or so, I am afraid that I am out this cycle. Hubby and I have been DTD every 2 days regardless, but this hasnt worked for 16 months so I dont see it working now.

Fingers crossed I am just going to have ridiculously late ovulation.

As for me just waiting on that smiley face to appear (and my peak fertility on the monitor). Doc is going away so I hope it happens in the next 24 hours!

Obviously no symptoms, just happy that the cramping finally subsided - my uterus was quite shocked by the IUI.

Wow - great follicle and sperm numbers. Isnt it amazing how the numbers can be so different, yet perfectly normal?

This was also our first cycle so also just testing the waters. We did a completely natural cycle and obviously did the IUI a bit prematurely, but here's hoping I can still catch that eggy this cycle.

Are you on a medicated cycle? Why have you gone down the IUI route?

Oh a side note - I asked the RE today if IUI is known to somehow affect ovulation and he said def not - I am just having one of those "off" cycles.

AFM - I had my second IUI yesterday, with one follicle at 24mm and already leaking fluid (about to release the egg) so timing was spot on . . . . now for the awful tww and a bit of bd thrown in for good measure.

Hoping with every bone in my body that this works.

We tried back in 2010 clomid and timed intercourse and it did not work (determined we were unexplained). Now we just want to try this before walking away from baby making for awhile. So 3-4 cycles of IUI with femara and maybe push for injectibles is what we plan to do!?!

I am not sure if our IUI was early or too late. Hope it was not a bust!!

Thanks! I just did my 2nd IUI he does two per cycle. Sounds like we are both in the 2ww!

How many years have you been ttc? Sounds like its been an awful journey. I was just having that conversation with my hubby last night and we are in agreement that once we hit the 2 year mark, we will stop actively trying. We already have one amazing little boy and maybe thats just the way its meant to be.

Did the RE do an u/s before insemination?

We have been trying since 2007 off and on. No children just our little pets!

Yes, they did an U/S and said everything was okay to do the IUI...but you know your feeling is just like "is the lining perfect, is my follicle okay, is there enough little guys swimming". I trust the doctor as best as I can.

2 lines - no no, there is no we . . . too scared to test early - seen waaaayyyyyy to many blank spaces (negatives) in my day. I was thinking of testing on halloween - thats 14dpiui for me. It is my birthday on the 27th though . . .
