Hi ladies. :flower:

I don't usually post in general chatter! I was curious though if any of you are in the path of the hurricane? I live in Delaware so it's likely going to hit us really hard. Apparently they're discussing evacuations later on today sometime.

For those who are in the projected path(s) what are your plans? Do you think it's really going to be as bad as they say it is? I'm not sure whether I should worry or not. If it looks awful and they tell us to evacuate, we will. Otherwise I'll just prepare for a power outage. The main thing I'm worried about are all of the trees surrounding my house!

We're on the West side of PA, we have been told to expect wind gusts to be around 60mph, which actually is pretty bad as we also live on a farm and grow feed corn, winds that strong could tear the entire field up :(

We're hoping it's not as bad but we've been getting warnings about the wind gusts and power outages and falling trees and everything. Basically we're being told not to drive if we can help it, worst thing is Halloween, our city and all the cities around us are celebrating it on Wednesday between 4:30 and 6:30, my kids want to go trick or treating but if it gets really bad that day they're going to lose out and the cities won't change the times or dates for nothing :(

Yes it is headed right for us.I also thought the winds were going to be 60 miles per hour but I was looking at the wrong line, my husband says it is 75 to 80 per hour.. We did all we could took down the stuff from the deck, bought batteries went food shopping, we also have a generator it will enable us to keep the refrigerator running some lights the TV and the computer. We bought the gas for it and it can last up to like 36 hours. The best thing we ever did was buy that, it costs a lot but it is worth it. I am not really scared of the storm but I just hope the power is not out for long, they say if it is that bad we could loose power for one week :nope: And I pray we don't get that bad flooding.

Hope everyone stays safe, XOXOOX :hugs:

^^same here. Hurricane force winds are supposed to hit by 6am tomorrow and at 6pm Tuesday. We bought a generator after last year's Halloween storm that left us without power for 5 days. Everything in the house is run by electric so with the generator we'll be able to run water, have heat, work a couple of tv's, internet, lights and the microwave.

Stay safe everyone! :hugs:

hoping it does a last min turn to sea
But stay safe will be thinking of you all xx

Im in Upstate NY and its heading for us. Hopefully it will get weaker by the time it gets up here. The stores are out of batteries!

I'm in CT. We're starting to shut down here. Schools are canceling classes, businesses are closing. We've got candles, flashlights and batteries, water and food, gas in the cars and are now just waiting for it to hit.

Stay safe everyone!

They closed schools here too, for tomorrow and Tuesday.

My friend is in New York, only one block away from mandatory evacuation sites.

Nothing here yet so far. It's expected to hit now around 1pm. I cancelled PJ's 4 month check-up. It was at 9:30 and chances are we would have been fine but I didn't want to take any chances so I rescheduled.

Def not worth the chance surprised they didn't cancel you!

Ladies, if you're in CT, you have until 1 pm before they close ALL highways in CT. Nothing about NY highways yet but Bloomberg will speak in about 10 minutes, so we'll see if he shuts down the highways here.

Winds have definitely picked up here...still a few more hours before Sandy hits.

Hope everyone stays safe! My parents live on the East Coast of Canada and they are supposed to get parts of the storm so hoping it isn't as bad as they say.

The wind is starting to pick up here in CT. DH said it could strengthen to a Category 2 by the time it hits!

I've never seen anything like it! I'm all the way over in Scotland, but watching it on Earthcam and the SoL cam just picked up a huge wave which is apparently unusual as it's usually just choppy?!

Thinking of you all!

I am thinking of you all girls. Stay safe x
