Anyone effected by Hurricane Sandy?

Where I live ( Staten Island) people are absolutely devastated We had no flooding or damage, we were lucky we are on high ground. People have lost everything, there is so much suffering here. The mother who lost her 2 boys to the ocean when the surge came, well they just found them, they were 2 and 4. So many people have died and they need help, we are trying to get everyone to donate anything no matter how small. I am just so sad over this, these people need help.

It is very devastating, there is places to donate to help these families who have lost so much. Im lucky because I am on higher ground. But the ones who where not, there are areas that do not exist anymore here that where full blown towns. I know three people who past away in this mess. Honestly do not know how they do this in states that get hit all the time. There is noway my heart could take this over and over again. Andy Im so glad you where like me, without power and gas but on higher ground!! ((hugs)) to you and yours and everyone who had to sit through this mess.....

I have it posted on my facebook, everywhere they are accepting donations. I have a lot of North Face jackets ( I don't know why I saved them, they were my kids) all in great condition, so i am going to give it to them. I think Wagner & Tottenville high schools are accepting donations and almost all the churches. These poor people lost everything I wish I could do more for them

a friend who is a bit of a storm chaser has said there is another storm brewing that could hit exactly the same areas that are already a mess & bring yet more flooding & stuff

Yes, we got a pretty bad nor Easter today into tomorrow so its been a double wammy...I just went outside to find a tree fell on my car..

Its not even deep into the winter yet....something has got to give..

My partner lives in NJ and was effected.. a tree fell on top of his house! I had no contact for 1 week! I was so worried because I was checking the google hurricane tracker for days... seeing where it flooded.. danger zones and so on.. he was in all the bad bits... thankfully he was okay x
