Anyone effected by Hurricane Sandy?

I've been watching some of the videos people are uploading on Youtube and some of them are scary!

There was one of a group of British guys over there recording looking for food as they're in a hotel and theirs live power lines snapped and swinging round the streets and things, and this was hours ago before it was anywhere near hitting :/ It's so scary I'm glad I'm not there and my thoughts are with everyone that is! I hope they all stay safe and that it isn't as bad as they're expecting :/

It's starting to get bad in CT. The wind has picked up and the rain is pounding at our house. So far, we still have power, though. I'm very nervous that its too dark out to see what's going on out there. Trying to stay calm for the boys. Trying to keep them occupied.

Couple of the girls on my FB said they were still safe around 6 hours ago. I hope they and everyone else is still safe. News said at least 16 dead over US and CA ...

I'm new around here, but figured I would check in anyway! I live in the Baltimore,MD area- thankfully not much water so we were just dealing with wind & rain. Our power was only out for about 20 minutes. My family lives in Annapolis where it was flooded, thankfully the flooding did not affect their house. My brother lives on the water and one of his kayaks were damaged, thankfully that was the worst, the flooding stopped short of reaching his building.

I don't personally know anyone in NY or NJ but those appear to be the worst!

it hit us hard, power just got turned back on where I ambut most of ny is still without lots by the ocean doesnt even exist anymore ..my daughter is out of school because no buses no gas, and people without housing are living there...its pretty bad in Staten Island right now
