Does the CB thing mean that if you have another baby, you still wont get anymore money?
I get £33 a week now for two kids. Will it stay the same £33 when the next baby is born?

You'll still get CB for next baby, it will just be at the same rate. Frozen means they aren't going to increase the payment, thats all. Just a way to save money xx

Alot of people dont get pay rises for years so i dont see why the public sector should be any different

I agree. My OH hasn't had a pay rise in 2 years, before that he got a pay rise of 11p and the year before a pay rise of 9p lol!!!!

families earning UNDER 40,000 per year will continue to get tax credits
The baby element is abolished?
child benefit will remain as it is for the next 3 years
Housing benefit will be restricted?

yes?

That sounds fair to me It means actually,not alot will change for out little family x

baby element is abolished
HIP grant will be stoped from april 2011
sure start maternity grant will be for first baby only
child benefit stays the same for next 3 years
housing benefit will be lowered and restitricted to maximum amounts

i'm actually really surprised by what they have said, i expected it to be a lot more extreme.

Well, Im pleasently suprsed so far! Seem to be doing everything fairly, not what I expected at all.. it all sounds great!

Slightly confused on the SSG tho, is it chaging to only the first child in april when the HiP grant goes, or is it immediate? Not that really agree with that, coz this isn't my first child, but I do most certainly need it through no fault of my own!

You'll still get an amount for each child it just won't increase each april as it usually would. Thats fair enough IMO
