I had flutters earlier on in pregnancy, around 13 weeks but shortly after it all stopped. I know that later the placenta takes over and I'd guessed I was anterior, which scan confirmed, but at 18 weeks I just want to feel baby now! I'm getting restless and at times I can forget I'm expecting! Just want to feel those kicks!

Know how you feel. I've struggled to feel movement. I started to feel gentle prods and pokes at 17 weeks but nothing for sure until very recently. Movements have just started to get stronger this week for me.

Oh that's greats!!! It's a relief to feel those movements isn't it? I'm hoping I'll start to feel them soon...going crazy in meantime lol

I have anterior placenta and when I asked my OB why I hadn't felt movement yet (last week) he responded saying " I'd be shocked if u could feel movement this early period." So it's very normal. You shouldn't feel much before 20 ish weeks...

I had an anterior placenta with my first. Felt nothing till they were full on ninja kicks at 22 weeks. Hang in there! Im 16 weeks with #2 and still havent felt anything and placenta is posterior this time.

Yep I have an anterior placenta too, I can feel movements but not strongly. I had the same with my little girl though so I dont really know what it feels like not too have an anterior placenta.

Me too! But I started feeling bubbling and movement around 17 weeks. I wasn't sure at that time. I only felt more definite kicks around 20 weeks. And now at 21 weeks plus, DH finally felt it for himself and I can feel them getting stronger.

I've felt slight movement since around 16 weeks off/on but nothing like kicks yet.

Will they tell me at next ultrasound or should I ask? Does it change anything other than feeling kicks?

I had anterior with last pregnancy and this pregnancy. Last time I didn't feel anything until a few day off of 18 weeks and this time nothing yet, I am only 15 plus 2 though.
It can also depend on where it is located e.g high/low up etc :)

Had anterior placenta with 1st pregnancy, felt baby move a handful times at the end of third trimaster. With this pregnancy, again I have anterior placenta but I think I felt something the last couple days (almost 20 weeks) but I could be wrong. Not sure what I should be feeling.

I did with this pregnancy and felt her in the beginning and it stopped until almost 19 weeks. I felt lil taps here and there but it was definitely stressful to me since my other two I could feel way before

Both twins have anterior placentas. I wasn't feeling definite movement until end of 20 weeks. Now I only feel them around the perimeter, nothing up front.

i have an anterior placenta and it took a long time to feel much in the way of movement, now at almost twenty five weeks I feel him all the time and so does my husband. I don't know if i'm just lucky or if he is just big enough now but we have a great time feeling him kick and move around. I was so impatient to feel him. Now i'm just really impatient to actually have a nice baby belly and fill out my maternity pants, i'm still waiting on that.

They told me at 12 week scan I had anterior placenta and I feel the odd little tap now n then an this is my 3rd full term pregnancy! Got my 20 week scan on 4th jan so will see if it's still not moved. It's very frustrating not being able to feel the baby and keep stressing if everything is ok so I feel your frustration. Xx

I have an anterior placenta for the first time this time. I felt bubbles around 11-13 weeks and then nothing until 23 weeks and have been getting stronger since then. Infact I can even see and feel her from the outside now x

Yes! I do and at the beginning when my pregnancy twin was feeling movement and I wasn't, I felt so bummed out. All I kept thinking was that he wasn't growing at the right pace but an ultrasound confirmed that I have an anterior placenta. They definitely do take out the fun especially early on, but now I feel him moving around all the time. His new favorite spot is my right ribs at the moment. Just give it some time! What I used to do was try to lay as still as I could and get used to what my body was doing before I felt the baby moving that way when I did start feeling him move, I knew for sure that he was moving. It's all about being in tune with your body!

I think I felt little flutters weeks 15-16, and then the day I turned 17 weeks I was sure I could feel baby kick! A few days after I could even see it on the outside.
However, the kicks I felt were on the lower left, so I'm assuming missing where my placenta is. I didn't feel movement in the center until 19 weeks. I also only notice movement if I'm sitting/laying down. Now, at 21 weeks, they are feeling a little stronger.

Baby is laying across my belly, so I think just his position allowed me to feel him earlier.

I had one last pregnancy, and couldn't feel anything until the early 20s. Movements were never "regular " for me, and I would go almost a day occasionally without feeling anything (talk about freaking out!). But- in the late-20s DH could occasionally feel him, and by 30s, I'd get some extremely painful movements and could see the baby poking out!

I found out that my placenta is also anterior before Christmas which explained why movements were hard to feel but they're getting stronger now.

I was told at the scan that I've an anterior placenta but seem to be feeling movements okay, but I cannot remember whether it's the same as before
