At my 24week appointment the midwife said to me my urine sample was quite alkaline TMI sorry lol and that I will be prone to infections. What she didnt explain is why my urine could be alkaline, I mean if its anything I have done that could of made it that way. I just wanted to know if anyone else has ever had this and the outcome? eg. did you get frequent infections. Im starting to panic myself now because Im sure I read somewhere that water infections can cause premature labour.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure, but I know that you can help prevent urinary tract infections by eating and drinking things high in Vitamin C, like cranberry juice. I guess that makes your urine more acidic? Perhaps talk to your midwife about things you can take to make your urine less alkaline?
