This is my first pregnancy and I’ll be 26 weeks tomorrow. Was told at my 20 week scan I had an anterior placenta and though my midwife didn’t say anything, I have heard it can make movement harder to feel. Some days I feel lots of movement, other days really not much!! I know I have an active baby, from what I saw on the scan and when the midwife uses the Doppler he is always moving around a ton but I really can’t always feel it. Anyone else get this?? When did people with anterior placentas get an actual movement pattern?

Hey. I'm also 26 weeks with anterior placenta and movement is very inconsistent. My midwife did tell me it would make movement more difficult to feel as the placenta cushions the kicks.
I was feeling a decent amount of movement for a while in the mornings and evenings whilst lying down. But now I seem to have gone backwards! Feeling a lot less. I think baby may have changed position.
I've read that after 28 weeks, movement can become more consistent.
If you are worried you can always get checked out. Apparently the advice is if you feel absolutely nothing for a period of 12 hours or more, then you should definitely have a check up.
Really hoping my little one starts moving more soon, it's getting a bit boring not feeling much!

I had a anterior placenta with my DD and didnt feel any movements until around 22 weeks and they didnt become consistent until about 26 weeks.

I have a anterior placenta again with this one and only been feeling daily movements for ths last 4 days. Not feeling any proper kicks yet but can definitely feel him wriggling around and very tiny light kicks here and there. I'm 18+2 so feeling it a bit earlier than DD.
Some womon with anterior placenta will not feel persistent movements until around 28 weeks.
As long as ure feeling movements daily I wudnt worry.
I'm supposed to be monitoring his movements because I have Cholestasis of Pregnancy but I've only just started feeling movements so it's hard.
I have a doppler tho so I have been using that.
Highly recommend getting a doppler they give u so much reassurance. Esp when ure not feeling regular movements.

Veanne yours sounds similar to mine, one moment I feel like we are picking up on movement and getting a pattern and the next day bam another quiet day! I thought this was the carefree stage of pregnancy but I find myself cautiously tuning into the softer movements on the quiet days, and calling in has crossed my mind a few times but he always comes back stronger a day or so later!

Suggerhoney sorry to hear you are dealing with cholastesis of pregnancy! That doesn’t sound fun but I’m sure you’re in good hands. I’ve been told I’m slightly higher risk of preeclampsia due to a pre existing medical condition but I do find the extra monitoring quite reassuring.
I think I will leave it till around 28 weeks to start monitoring kicks properly, I do enjoy the active days more!

I barely ever feel her move. In my previous pregnancy I had anterior placenta and felt my son alot more than I feel my daughter but I also believe its bc shes further back. I have intense lower back pain and when I have Braxton hicks they're felt in the my back as well as the front. When they checked for her heart beat the last time they had a hard time and it was very "far away" bc she is toward my back. I feel movement but def not as much as I would like to at 26 weeks.

I'm 21 weeks with an anterior placenta and definitely feeling less strong movements than with all my others. I still feel a decent amount but it's light and low. Hoping it picks up and gets stronger as the weeks go on.

Oh sweety pre eclampsia is not fun and I really hope and pray you wont get that.
Sadly I'm very likely to develop that as well because I already have the cholestasis and the 2 can go hand in hand. I had both conditions with my DD. Pre eclampsia showed up around 30 weeks and then the cholestasis around 33 weeks.
So I will be monitored closely for that as well.
I already have protein in my pee but my blood pressure is fine so there not to worried rite now.
Just praying that the pre eclampsia will not start any time soon and holds rite off until I'm a good few weeks into the 3rd tri. Fingers crossed.
